I have this video on my Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition game, and it looks very nice, with very good graphics (better than RE4). This video here looks awful compared to the original.

Was that RE3 Jill I saw for a glimpse near the end?

This game looks really sweet. I saw this video a couple of days ago while navigating the menu of RE4 Wii Edition and I'm pretty hyped for it now.

I must say, this game looks like it will be very exciting. On-rails-shooters can be an awesome experience if done right.

I completely lost interest in this game after finding out it's just another remake, as a dumb shooter no less. Just show new image of RE5, already.

I'm not sure why Joystiq doesn't really like this game. I can't imagine that their hands on was that bad. Although the game isn't a traditional Resident Evil game, an on-rails game isn't exactly boring. Hell, I got Rayman Rabbids and I would have bought the game just for the dumb plunger rail shooter. I know where everything is on those levels and their still fun. Anyway, game looks great.

@ 2
Yeah I saw that! That was definitely Jill from Resident Evil 3 at the end. However, where are some shots of Leon and Claire from 2 already?

Believe me I aint worried a bit about how bad ass RE5 will be...

11,12,and 13 I'm not sure why Joystiq doesn't really like this game.

Ummm maybe the hands-on part should have given you a clue. Or maybe they know RE rail shooters are total shit from playing past RE rail shooters...

This game still looks awesome to me. My gf is an ace shot, and we will tear through this game like a gorilla through an unconsenting spider monkey.

Graphics are great, and will set a new bar on the Wii. The more games that come out looking this good, the more cheapass bandwagon companies won't be able to port garbage looking crap to Wii just because "it's fun so we didn't have to try lol it has worse graphx then teh gamecube!"

Oh also, check out this video I worked on for the nintendo short cuts contest:

For my RE-fan friends, this game will be the kickass dosage of RE to carry them over from RE4 Wii to RE5

while those Wii haters will just have to do without the double dose and the extra shooter and just wait

Although the only reason Joystiq didn't like it was that they felt it was far too easy, but that's something very likely to be fixed (demos are rarely indicitave of the difficulty of the finished product. If they were i'd be scared shitless about Metroid Prime 3 AND Halo 3)

Alex,

Actually, reloading in the version of RE: tUC that Joystiq played at our Gamer's Day is done by quickly flicking the Wii Remote, not the Nunchuck controller. This is akin to pointing your lightgun off-screen to reload in, well, just about every lightgun game ever released.

The Nunchuck is used for looking around the environments. Although the game is "on rails," there is still a bit of 3D motion. Looking around can net you bonuses like extra ammo, weapons or herbs in places that might not be obvious. You'll definitely have to adjust your viewpoint from time to time, especially when the zombie you just kneecapped starts crawling across the floor to nibble on your lower extremities.

Make sure to come by and see us at E3. We're going to have a newer version of the game that I think you guys will find very... interesting.

I think this looks badass. I haven't enjoyed a good on-rails shooter since the days of Virtua Cop. (House of the Dead was ... ok, but still sort of meh.)

Besides, I think a fresh take on the original Resident Evil is more than welcome.

They should limit how much ammo you get, making you use a knife if you run out.

oh man, this looks awesome! this is exactly the kind of game that makes me want a Wii. the kind of game you can waste an afternoon on with a friend, rather than one with 100 hours of gameplay and an open ended world that you can never possibly beat.

i'll get it.

Have fun waiting Loki. I'll have fun while playing this game and when RE5 comes out....I'll buy that too.

Genius, huh?

What's so watered down about this game? Oh I get it. Because it has the RE name but it's a shooter and not a typical RE game? If they called it House of the Dead or Time Crisis you'd be perfectly happy with it. You'd probably buy it, play it and enjoy it. But you just can't get over the name long enough to give the game a chance.

That's retarded.

At least it looks like there's finally enough ammo. Between that and the fact that the horrific control scheme isn't being used (RE4 being the sole exception so far) I could see myself getting into this game. Especially dual wielding remotes, assuming they actually use the trigger as a trigger this time. Shooting with the A button would be ok if we were talking about Trek TNG era phasers, but not modern guns.

RE4 for the Wii also uses the wiimote for both aiming and reloading. I love RE4 for the Wii though and the mechanics don't bother me.

On a side note, since lat 2006, I've been a Gears of War addict, but since picking up RE4Wii, I've spent all my time playing RE4. And it dawned on me, Gears Of War borrows a lot from RE4--right down to the torque bow which is an obvious descendant of RE4's mine thrower. More similarities:

-very near over the shoulder camera that makes for some intense gun fights
-chainsaw
-very tight level design and story progression

Nevertheless, Gears Of War isn't a survival horror game, so it's revolutionary in that it enables players to be far more nimble and dexterous.

So they are reusing the RE Gamecube models then? but with full 3d backgrounds. Looks interesting.

Rail shooters have always rocked (contrary to popular opinion), so it could be cool. House of the Dead, Sin and Punishment and Panzer Dragoon were all total classics.
