Anthrax, Judas Priest, Winger join 80's Guitar Hero track list

As is the case with all ancient evils, 80's rock music was never sealed away in a very permanent fashion. The horrors of big hair and even bigger shoulder pads may have been dulled by the passage of time, but the cheesy tunes that went with them are creeping back to life in the form of optical discs, half-forgotten memories and rhythmically rocking video games. Activision has announced that Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s has gone gold and will unleash its insidious compositions via your PlayStation 2 on July 24th.
The final eight songs from the 30-strong(ish) track list are presented below, with previously announced tracks found after the break.

Rubang B @ Jun 28th 2007 5:12PM
Oh crap, now I gotta play this just for the opening riff of "(I Think I'm) Turning Japanese."
AirIntake @ Jun 28th 2007 5:13PM

copa @ Jun 28th 2007 5:16PM
"The final eight songs from the 30-strong(ish) track list..."
Looks to me like nine songs, for a total of exactly 30.
OTAM @ Jun 28th 2007 5:17PM
We Got The Beat from the Go-Go's?
Dear god yes.
BeckRokk @ Jun 28th 2007 5:23PM
It's high time John Doe got some love. I've been rallying for X since day one.
deaftly @ Jun 28th 2007 5:29PM
not really liking the list, would have been better with more cheesy hair bands, some of those bands had some crazy solos, and wheres the ozzy?
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 28th 2007 5:47PM
Ohh yes... Electric Eye!
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Jun 28th 2007 6:14PM

Well at least you'll have a bass guitar when Rock Band comes out. :)
a robot @ Jun 28th 2007 6:02PM
So like, is the point of this to make 80s music look like junk? Seriously, where's Sonic Youth, The Clash, Talking Heads, R.E.M., etc.? And only 30 songs...?
swanny5150 @ Jun 28th 2007 6:03PM
A typo up there, Radar Love was by Golden Earring, not White Lion. Speaking of White Lion, I was really hoping that 'Wait' would be on here. That would have been a killer solo to nail on Expert.

I agree with Robot. What about the Cure, the Smiths, or even Depeche Mode.
Evan @ Jun 28th 2007 6:09PM
The hell? No ACDC?
NickDynmo @ Jun 28th 2007 6:12PM
Dead Kennedys! Excited!

White Lion did a cover of this song in the 80s and released it as a single, complete with MTV video. Presumably it's that version since there's a lot more axe-work in White Lion's music than in Golden Earring's.

I wonder what kind of bonus songs there will be, if any.
Honestly, as much as I love guitar hero I cna't really justify spending 50 bucks on 30 songs. If there's just as many bonus songs then I'll pick it up in a heartbeat.
Sean @ Jun 28th 2007 6:38PM
That one Boingo track sold the game for me. I'm gonna go preorder that now...
why not the LS2/LS7? @ Jun 28th 2007 6:49PM
Copa, I think the (ish) on strong was because the tracks aren't all strong, not because there aren't exactly 30.
It'd be "30ish strong" if it were about the number of tracks instead of the quality.
I can't wait to play some 80s hair music.
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Jun 28th 2007 6:49PM
LIMOZEEN OMG!
A REAL XBOX REP @ Jun 28th 2007 6:52PM
I honestly believe the set liszt for this games is better than GH2 and possibly almost if not on Par with GH 1.
Julian @ Jun 28th 2007 7:28PM
Where the hell is Motley Crue??!??!
I want another song of theirs in the game!!!!
GRR!!!!
penas @ Jun 28th 2007 7:44PM

swanny5150 @ Jun 28th 2007 7:47PM
@15 - Right you are. I guess if my lazy ass would have clicked the link, I would have realized this. :)
miguelon918 @ Jun 28th 2007 9:47PM
No metallica or slayer?! ¬.¬...well anyways i am buying this
ill trooper @ Jun 29th 2007 1:32AM
"Tonight's the night that we got the truck, gonna go downtown and beat up drunks"
••• dude, "POLICE TRUCK" is one of my favorite songs of all time...
"Dispatch calls, 'Are you doin' somethin wicked?'
No siree, Jack, just givin' tickets!
RIDE, Ride... how we RIDE!"
A good track listing. Still, I would love to have seen:
The Clash's "Know Your Rights" or even "Should I Stay or Should I Go."
Motley Crue: "Live Wire"
I'd like to once again hint to Red Octane that Ministry's "The Mind is a Terrible Thing To Taste" was released near the final cusp of the 80's... November 19th, 1989... "Burning Inside..."
Purple Haze @ Jun 29th 2007 8:03AM
Ok activision red octane and anyone wth anything to do with this game are comletely screwed in the head. No ozzy osbourne? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! I hope they all get hit by a train
colin @ Jun 29th 2007 9:21PM
Dude, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Awesome.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 29th 2007 11:09AM
Um, Police Truck? Really?
So, did they take out the part about the cops gang raping hookers or is this game going to be rated M after all?
Matt B @ Jun 29th 2007 11:08AM
I'd love to see someone play the guitar solo in SEVENTEEN on that guitar.
You would be my new god.
Xerotime @ Jun 29th 2007 1:16PM
this really needs to come out as DLC for the 360
Roflgoat @ Jun 29th 2007 6:25PM
