Civilization Revolution trailer released
Just a few hours after the good news hit, Take 2 has released a trailer for the upcoming Civilization Revolution game our handheld and console systems are already salivating for. Ok, so no actual gameplay is shown, just a bunch of orchestral music, pre-rendered cut scenes, and marketing speak reminding us why Civilization is one of the coolest franchises we've ever played. But come on ... this is Civilization. On your DS. On your Xbox 360. How great is that?

I don't think this is coming to DS or any Nintendo console in general. I don't see a Nintendo logo in the trailer =/

#1, thanks for breaking my heart

I am getting it for PC of course.
It looks cool,almost like a RPG, not a TBS.'
I would REALLY like era lock, like say you are locked in 300 B.C or 1400 A.D or even 2000 A.D.

#2 I know my heart was broken as much as yours, trust me =/ I've been waiting for a Civilization game on DS for so long.

@Icarus & zwarrior
Quote from SId Meier:
"We are excited to take advantage of the power of next generation consoles and the ingenuity of handhelds, to create a great and unique strategy game for newcomers to the series, as well as the millions of fans around the world who enjoy Civilization on the PC."
Notice the pural "handhelds"? That means PSP & DS. If anything is uncertain it's the Wii – since it's not entirely regarded as a "powerful next generation console".

At #1: I think that the Wii and DS versions will be completely different from the console and PSP versions because of the touch on DS and motion on Wii; it will be built like two different games.
Just like The BIGS...
Neebs @ Jun 28th 2007 8:51PM
I may just have to buy this for DS...
Scott @ Jun 28th 2007 10:06PM
Any word on if this will get renamed to Civilization Wii?
I kid, I kid. ;)

Tobin92,
You say that you will be getting this for PC... Um... Why not just play Civ IV? It is PC exclusive, and has been released for some time. In fact - being that this version will only be for consoles and handhelds... I think Civ IV is your only option...
But it's late, and potential satire may be lost on me...
Sean @ Jun 29th 2007 2:21PM
umm... what if I would like to play this on my PS3 or PSP?
tobin92 @ Jun 29th 2007 10:57AM
Ya, I have Civ 4....I find it unbalance and broken at times. In wars, allies never help. Not to mention units are odd and unbalanced when archers kill modern day soldiers and barbarians kill tanks.
Mez Jr @ Jun 29th 2007 11:19AM
@tobin92
It's not unbalanced, the Ewoks killed stormtroopers and AT-STs.
Juri @ Jul 1st 2007 12:22PM
Yes!
At last some good news! I'm fan of civ about 10 years and soon I will play it everywhere. Man it's gonna be awesome!
Long live Civilisation

Uh, Accidental. None of the current consoles out are next generation, they are current generation (i.e. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii). The next generation consoles have not been made yet (i.e. Xbox 720, PS4, Wii part 2). FYI, the last generation is PS2, Xbox, Gamecube.
