Perhaps they should have stopped after the first trailer.

"Adorable" accent? Really?
Do you identify with Ellen a lot?

All Niko needs now is some razor wire and GTA IV would get a AO rating...

added the HD video to YouTube.. Enjoy !

Lots of CG videos, no actual gameplay... means nothing, but looks nice
ChuckSteak0331 @ Jun 28th 2007 1:07PM
Uh... Did the graphics engine take a huge dump? From the first trailer to this one almost looks like two different games. Still cool, but I just lost a lot of "hype" for it.
The acting seems top notch though.
chris king @ Jun 28th 2007 1:38PM
Just another HYPE trailer with a bunch of cutscenes and no "in game" footage.
Triforceowner @ Jun 28th 2007 1:12PM
Looks like a summer blockbuster done in videogame form correctly. I might pick it up...
dvdguy @ Jun 28th 2007 1:13PM
Pre-rendered cinematics mean nothing to me.

It doesn't look like it's worth paying $660 to play it.

The video has a fucktion of ugly compression artifacts applied to it. The Yahoo! page is no different. You can't really say anything to that effect until we get a crisp Quicktime encode.
With that said, it still looks good, you just have to squint.
deaftly @ Jun 28th 2007 1:20PM
jesus, what happened to the great graphics, this must be the ps3 build, zing!
Michael K. @ Jun 28th 2007 1:21PM
This game is the definition of lame, it looks like crap. We have the 360 to thank for that.
Mr. Taco @ Jun 28th 2007 1:23PM
The trailer looks great to me, I'm really excited about this game, lets hope the PS3 version is good, stop hating on Sony you little *****, get something better to do, damn!
juciebytim @ Jun 28th 2007 1:27PM
Dear people who think this is CG/Pre-Rendered,
You are morons.
Sincerely,
People who are not morons
Jameson @ Jun 28th 2007 1:27PM
"This game is the definition of lame, it looks like crap. We have the 360 to thank for that."
Is that why every build shown so far, whether to the press or public, has been of the 360? It's running the game better than you're precious PS3, fanboy turd.
Blizz4l9 @ Jun 28th 2007 1:28PM
you sure don't need quicktime for a good quality version, fuck quicktime its just as useful as iTunes which is garbage
Utils @ Jun 28th 2007 1:28PM
Don't bother download any of those. Just watch the Quicktime version: http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/trailer2/640x360q.html

First of all great name. It's always unique when someone has numbers trailing their username. Second, watch the quicktime video I posted. This game is looking great. And you people that said the game is pre-rendered... Don't ever have children.
The reason I said quicktime is because on the Internet, QT video will sacrifice smaller file size for a better picture quality. It's just the way it is.
And I agree that iTunes is garbage. But what does that have to do with this trailer?
Michael McGuire @ Jun 28th 2007 1:38PM
Uncanny valley FTL :-(
Blizz4l9 @ Jun 28th 2007 1:39PM
i was just basically saying quicktime isn't really the answer, they could of made a good quality windows media version as well but the people who posted it decided use a highly compressed version, and the numbers in my name represent something similar to what the name before it does so thanks for criticizing something you do not understand lol
SmartriX @ Jun 28th 2007 1:43PM
Since when has any GTA game had any CG cutsequences? That's ALL gameplay graphics.
Joe @ Jun 28th 2007 1:43PM
The charcters look wooden. How long have they had to make this? What happened to the next gen?? :(
Utils @ Jun 28th 2007 1:48PM
@25
You should really learn what Uncanny Valley means before saying that.
@26
But Quicktime IS the answer. Can you go fram-by-frame on an WMV? No you can't. And by going frame-by-frame, I noticed a poor homeless man getting beat up by a pedestrian. Uh, it's something, right?
I know you have a hard-on for MS and still think there's a Mac/PC war going on but get over it. Until you can go frame-by-frame with arrow keys in a WMV, QT holds the advantage. And going frame-by-frame through the last trailer in QT is EXACTLY what the media did with the last trailer.
Why does this even bother you. And clearly it does. You have MS stock or something? You get royalties somehow?
God, fanboys take every form.
losttoys @ Jun 28th 2007 1:49PM
chris kong -
Trailers are designed to create hype! Wait for late summer/fall for gameplay video.
Joe @ Jun 28th 2007 2:00PM
LOL - "iTunes is garbage" - It's quite obviously not to your taste. But that doesn't make it garbage. It revolutionized listening to music on your computer, syncing media with your iPod and buying music online. So please leave your bad taste at home and talk about this video.

"But Quicktime IS the answer. Can you go fram-by-frame on an WMV? No you can't."
Yes, you can.
"Just another HYPE trailer with a bunch of cutscenes and no "in game" footage."
It's all in-game footage. There's presumably just no gameplay (several scenes could be gameplay with fancy vehicle camera views, but there's no way of telling for sure). There's a difference.
Jonathan Tran @ Jun 28th 2007 2:00PM
This is NOT pre rendered, at least the vast majority isn't. If you think this is pre rendered, you have either not played a next gen or PC game in years, or you are some kind of anti GTA fanbot.
Seriously... yeesh.
RP @ Jun 28th 2007 2:00PM

no i don't like QT because i have issues doing what ever i please with a QT file, it has nothing to do with me disliking Mac's, Mac's do have a use if your into graphic design and such
hester789 @ Jun 28th 2007 2:06PM
ha the ppl who complain that its not "in-game" footage...if this was pre-rendered it would look...
im not even going to bother, you guys have no idea what youre saying and complain for the sake of complaining. If this trailer is CG, we're in 1996. The only thing not in-game about this is the lack of a HUD and actual footage of free roaming which would ruin the trailer.
Dansk @ Jun 28th 2007 2:07PM
I like the cop/drama movie feeling it's got. I hope the story is pretty good :)
Hobone @ Jun 28th 2007 2:08PM
I HATE VIDEO GAMES!!!! >:O
Borat @ Jun 28th 2007 2:09PM
Why are people complaining? Looks pretty good to me! Don't visit the yahoo site...it's extremely low-res.
Chris @ Jun 28th 2007 2:13PM
Yeah, Rockstar clearly is having problems with their character models. They just don't look very good. And they certainly don't look next-gen. Resident Evil 4 has much better character models, and it's a freaking GameCube game...

You may try using
Windows Media Player Classic
or even old
Windows Media Player 6.4 (if you have codecs installed)
PS. QT with HD movies is 2 to 3 TIMES SLOWER ON PC.
Terrible terrible coding - 'it works like crap 'cause we want YOU to BUY MAC'.
Stupid Apple.

Much fucking better than the first trailer. Now I'm excited!

@ 42
Haha, nice.
@ everyone else:
Chill out, the game isn't coming out for another FOUR MONTHS, so I'm sure the geniuses at Rockstar will have time to iron out almost all of the wrinkles and make an amazing game. Why have we all lost faith? The last three games were amazing in my book.
Farseer @ Jun 28th 2007 2:26PM
Hey, if you play any GTA game for the latest in cutting-edge graphics, then you are a moron.
That said, I can't even begin to imagine the scope of this game. It will be huge. The GTA series is the father of all sandbox games, and judging by the monumental leaps in scope and gameplay from GTA III to San Andreas, this chapter promises to be great.
Utils @ Jun 28th 2007 2:28PM
@35
Care to explain how, mystery man?
@36
If you can't play QT files then there's something very wrong with your rig.
@33
iTunes is and HAS been garbage and will continue to be garbage until the fix many flaws with the software. There's no point in listing them all. The BIGGEST flaw is their playlist system. Basically, their system is YOU. The USER has to make all the playlists.
Windows Media Player has had auto playlists and category trees since forever. And WMP11 even takes this to the next level. On iTunes the only way to sort things is to do it yourself. Otherwise ALL your music is displayed on a single plain.
For an Apple product I'm surprised at how unintuitive it is.

No, no, and maybe. In can be argued that WINAMP revolutionized listening to audio on your PC. Syncing has been around since WMP7. Nothing revolutionary about that. And your third point I'll say maybe.
Utils @ Jun 28th 2007 2:33PM
@ 45
But then I have to jump through hoops! (See my point? Hurts, doesn' it?) Hopefully WMP12 will support this out the box and I can do it in my browser.
