Street Fighter II, Etch-A-Sketch-style
Recently posted on The Etch-A-Sketchist, a site dedicated to art created on our favorite drawing canvas of frustration: a detailed rendering of a Street Fighter II battle between Ryu and Sagat. Even more astounding is the artist created the scene on a travel Etch-A-Sketch which is approximately the size of a bacterium. Great patience and a steady hand went in to the making of this piece of art. Be jealous.

Those mini Etch-A-Sketch things are hard as hell to try and draw anything decent on. This guy is either a savant or one of those meth addicts who do crazy single line drawings.

I don't know whether to not to be impressed or disgusted!

Yeah - I smell a fake.
That Optimus Prime one looks a little too clean, if you ask me.

Reminds me of the original Game Boy.

Sweet Etch-A-Sketch action! My hometown is home to the Etch and actually my mom works at Ohio Art. Although they don't make them at the factory - it's all done in Mexico. But we still make Dum Dum suckers! I guess you could say I'm proud of my small town, despite it being in the middle of nowhere, Ohio.
But it's nice to see people with no social life devote their time to such a niche art market. I never could really make a good drawing, let alone a rectangle on those damn things.

I'm also calling fake.
Yes, some people have done some fantastic things with an Etch-A-Sketch, and it has been a long while since I've used one myself, but isn't it basically a line or no-line tool? How did the right side of Mr. Spock's face get 'shaded' grey?
There are also a lot of 'dead end' lines not possible on an Etch-A-Sketch.
But hey, whatever.

And Ryu exclaims "Ho-ooh-sh*t" as he sends a mighty blue puff towards the father of the Olsen Twins.

SFII on an Etch-A-Sketch? I heard it was a good port apart from the frame rate sucked.

Hey. Thanks for all the linky goodness. Cail, I'd love to tell you how to get shading on Etch-a-Sketch (if you think really really hard maybe you can figure it out) but you called me a fake so I'm not giving away my secret techniques.
