Dementium: The Ward will be on-hand on Gamecock's EIEIO party during Min-E3. Video, care of Gametrailers, embedded after the break.
Today's most horrifyingly dual-screen video: Dementium trailer
21
When independent publisher Gamecock announced Dementium: The Ward, from developer Renegade Kid, they promised the game would "set the bar for mature handheld games." If this newly-released trailer is any indication, they're on the right track. Decaying corpses, flashlight exploration, and a hint of gun-play. And the graphics aren't too shabby, either.

Neato, a little zombie killing never hurt anybody...except for the zombies.

So you use the stylus on the bottom screen to control the gun on the top screen? Sounds screwy

sounds and looks awesome. I'm very interested in this. as long as it controls as good as MPH I'll stay interested.
they really need more FPS games on DS.. Unreal Tournament Wi-Fi please? Half Life DS?

NeverSage: It's been done that way on the DS for a long time.

I love the solution to a short draw length - make the whole thing dark and foreboding. Looks great!

Cool. Problem is, it's a little difficult to draw in someone to a game (to the point where they get frightened) with a handheld. Doesn't mean it can't be done, though. I could see myself playing this in the dark.
I really like that music too. Scary games need more piano.

Ok, looks cool...and we need it to be on the DS instead of a platform like, oh, the PS2 that has decent graphics why? Oh, that's right! Because they think it will sell better...even if it makes us squint at a tiny screen. Geez! Actually, this looks like it would make a pretty good Wii game - move with the nunchuck and aim the flaslight with the remote.

Its exactly like Metroid Prime Hunters... works like a FPS from the PC... the stylus acts like a mouse and it works very good... its a lot better and precise than double sticks

If I'm not mistaken since I never played it, in Hunters isn't all the action on the bottom screen? That seems to make more sense then controlling the top screen.

well..yeah...the big consoles already have games like this, the DS has only got resi 1 and touch the dead. Theres a gap in the market and a game will sell better without any other competition.
HURRR
I swear to god, some people really need reminding that this is an INDUSTRY

The vital signs monitor on the bottom screen kind of reminds me of Illbleed.

All the action is on the top screen while you control on the bottom. You don't even have to look at the bottom screen unless you're pressing buttons to change weapons and such. This makes it alot better as the stylus doesn't get in the way of the action on the top screen.

I withdraw my criticism.
But still, the DS may be my most used system, but perfect for FPS games, it is not.

actually, it's pretty perfect for FPS games. I'd say the stylus and keypad control works REALLY well in Metroid Prime.
(the only thing that annoyed me was that I had to use double-tap to jump and couldn't remap it to the shoulder buttons.
If you haven't tried an FPS on the DS you really should, it works WAY better than you'd expect.
that said, those graphics don't look even close to Metroid Hunters.
