Japaneses hardware sales, Jun. 18 - Jun. 24: Contra-diction edition
When does mere coincidence become conspiracy? It's an appropriate question to ask given the curious state of this week's Japanese hardware sales, which seem to hint at an unseen entity unfairly adjusting parameters and altering the accepted balance of things. Indeed, the original Nintendo DS seems to have been given life again -- 30 lives compared to last week's zero. Could Konami's recent announcement of side-scrolling shooter sequel, Contra 4, have played a part in all this?

Wow, it looks like the new Zelda game was able to move a bunch more DS in sales this week. All other sales this week have been average. I'm surprised though by the lack of any substantial bump-ups in PS3 sales despite the release of good games the last few weeks. Come on, a new Gundam game sells a bunch-more PS3s, yet a new decent game like Folksoul or Ninja Gaiden Sigma barely makes a dent? I guess that means everyone is waiting for the new Hot Shot bundle lol.

The PS3 never ceases to amaze me in its disappointment. Even Japanese Eroge games outsell all but the top couple of PS3 games! I'm serious, AliceSoft's - www.alicesoft.com - latest rape-simulator the PC has sold more copies (63,634) and made more money (¥530 million) in its first *two weeks* than multi-million-dollar PS3 titles like Motorstorm or Genji 2 have in six months!

The Wee is clearly not going to stay on top for much longer. If you look at these charts, monthly sales for the PS3 have increased by 100, while the Wee only sold 61 more than last month. That's a whopping 39% difference in favour of the PS3. Have fun playing with your Wee, kiddie kiddies, because it's obviously doomed. There are -no- games coming out for it while the PS3 has nearly 400 quality games lined up, as Sony stated themselves.

sony clearly stated it was 145 games not 380 and half of them are shovel ware.. the wii has a million seller comin out every month while the ps3 wont have a good game till april 2008... the only reason it had a little 100(dats pathetic 100) increase was because it had a game in the top 10 for the first lol.. lets face it by the time the ps3 gets good games in japan the wii would have beat the shit out of the ps3 lol give up fanboys its over for the ps3...

yea.. that makes a lot of sense... so your saying that if you have an unpopular company like Media Play sell 5 more CDs than usual, but Best Buy who sells a shit load more a week sells only 3 more than usual that Media Play will skyrocket in popularity and become the new most successful fortune 500 entertainment store company? ... please.
Look at the games coming up for Wii (yes, you should learn to spell that) vs what is coming out for the Ps3 this fall.. that should help you out with why their numbers are so low. With games like Metroid, Smash Bros, Nights, Soul Calibur Legends, Resident Evil Umbrella C., Geometry Wars, Wii Health/Music, etc etc its hard to compete.
I seem to remember this type of utter fanboy attitude of "we'll show you how much you suck more than us" from when Sega started to kick the bucket.
