Majesco to localize quirky Wii game Furu Furu Park
Released in Japan in April, Furu Furu Park is a Wii-exclusive title that features over two dozen mini-games based on classic Taito franchises such as Araknoid and Bubble Bobble. Majesco recently announced the game will be localized for North American audiences, pulling out those squiggly Japanese lines and replacing them with the glorious Roman alphabet. In addition to its battery of "quirky stylized" arcade games, Furu Furu Park includes three multiplayer modes (including one where you compete to win "female affection") and a number of original games that, naturally, take advantage of the Wii remote's motion sensing, such as "Safe Cracker" and "Super Karate".

I hope I won't have to rub that silver and red bowling ball dildo. Then again, if I'm competing for "female affection" I shouldn't be so quick to limit myself and my actions.

So the minigame crap just keeps on coming. So far my prediction that the Wii's first year would be almost identical to the DS's first year has held up.

Mini-games shall never die. They'll just become compilations of mini-game mini-games.
Mario Party 8 sold 550k. So yeah they're never going away.

"Araknoid"? For shame, Joystiq! It's Arkanoid!

It took a few seconds for it to click that "Safe Cracker" didn't mean "A biscuit that is in no danger".
I don't mind some more minigames - WarioWare and Rayman are my favourite Wii titles so far. It's not like there aren't bigger titles on the way, light entertainment like this is simply much quicker to develop.

Its a minigame collection, which is bad
But its part Arkanoid, so its good
hmm, what outrules what?

One day there will be a Top 50 Wii Mini-Games of 2007 Anthology game, and it will be the best selling game of that year.

This is starting to piss me off. I love the Wii and all, but I'm getting tired of the whole minigame crap. The Wii was not meant to play only minigame type games. If the Wii fails it's the third party developers fault, not Nintendo's.

Some day I hope to meet the hypothetical minigamer who bought all the Wii's minigame collections on their respective launch days and is having the time of their life.
Fret not, Wii fans, this doesn't concern us. Our games are coming. Many are already here.

@11
Of course, nothing is ever Nintendo's fault.
