Consolevania [expletive]s its way back into our hearts with series 3
1
Chances are you've probably not heard of Consolevania. The relatively obscure video game based internet show, created by two Glaswegian gentlemen, has been such a huge hit in certain areas that BBC Scotland commissioned them for a late night show called Video Gaiden. Now that is over and Rab and Ryan are back with season three of Consolevania for our viewing pleasure and it's as hilarious as ever.
Do you enjoy bad reviews? Even moreso than good ones? Us too, they're much more fun. Consolevania have turned bad reviews into an artform with their stream-of-consciousness style narration over gameplay video. While the show includes more variety than just bad reviews, these are our favourite parts. The other parts of the show are very difficult to describe, you will simply have to see it for yourself. Do so without hesitation. Though we do have a small disclaimer: these videos are not for young'uns. Strong language and "suggestive themes" abound.
The first episode of series three kicks off with the normal reviews and game-related skits intermingled with a two part "PS3 round up". This feature goes through each of the main PS3 games in turn (including a preview of Nucleus), with the hosts giving their thoughts. Whilst we find some of their comments a little hard to swallow ("The PS3 is an 'if' machine" for example), we generally agree with their thoughts on the individual games. Except for Super Stardust HD. They are the first people we've come across to find the game disappointing and it boggles our minds.
We are very much looking forward to the inclusion of more PS3 content in the future. Check out episode 1 of the new, monthly, series three. If you like that then check out series 1 and 2 as well. Enjoy.
