A brief note in publisher THQ's fiscal report (PDF file) indicates that a previously announced sequel to Saint's Row will not be marching until fiscal year 2009. In calendar terms, that means excess excess pimp-slapping won't be coming until at least April 1, 2008.
Conspicuously absent from the entire report was a mention of a Destroy All Humans sequel. Though DAH3 was reportedly announced in a German magazine as coming out this calendar year to consoles, no mentions were made of the franchise for either FY 2008 or 2009. It is still listed as one of its key IPs, however.
There's always a chance, however slim, that THQ could pull a surprise announcement at next week's Min-E3. Expected this fiscal year from THQ are Stuntman: Ignition, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights and MX vs. ATV. Oh, and licensed titles, too.

I find it funny that THQ stopped development of the PS3 port of Saints Row stating that their resources would be better served on the sequel, and PS3 gamers would be more appreciative of a sequel made from the ground up to support the PS3/Xbox 360.

Howso? Rather than bring out a shitty port 1 year later (a la F.E.A.R.,) on a console that hasn't been selling all that well, they decided to take their time and try to produce a decent, multiplatform sequel. I don't see how this fucks over gamers at all.

I think Saints Row's port cancellation has more to do with it's holiday season 07 release date than anything else. GTA clone (despite being fun as all hell, it's still a clone) versus GTA.... wonder who would win that battle.

Saints Row was a godsend last summer for the 360. surprisingly good game.
historically, summer is a videogame dead zone, and i'm sure PS3ers would have appreciated it while they're desperately waiting for Lair and H.Sword..

Considering Saints Row showed up 8 months late on 360 to begin with, I'm a bit understanding of delays when porting to PS3. Especially considering it took them an addition 2-4 months to finally fix the multiplayer.

8 months late building from scratch.
why are you understanding of however many months even later but for ports?

Well this should make the people who hated the first one happy " If the games being released in 2009 then chances are! The game will be delayed again and again untill they dropped the project =/
