I actually think the box art is great. It's definitely not typical, which I appreciate.

Looking forward to this game and it will have a large user with this addition to the series. I don't think they needed to included motorcycles though. You can't compare it to Forza 2, they are two different racing types and you can't compare the environment graphics (or lack of) in Forza 2 to even PGR 3.

So I bought Forza, played it online, and almost threw my controller out of the room because during the first 5 secs my car was into pieces and could barely drive. That's terrible, although its a great 1 player simulator though. Then I went out and bought Dirt- Hands Down the best car game for the 360 yet, but then I played online and realized how lame it was racing against yourself. Who thought of that? So I'm ready for PGR4 cause at least its a fun arcade feel with multiple players online- and I think looks the best. Good racing and see you in Forza

Anyone notice the inconsistency in this image? The motorcycle has dry pavement while the car is splashing through a wet surface.

crud, OXM said that PGR4 would have a new vehicle to race. I was hoping for hovercrafts.

Hey Dustin. I would not worry too much about the inclusion of motorbikes in the game. If you include Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast), PGR4 marks Bizarre's 5th iteration of their game design; they have had more than enough time to perfect the mechanics of automobile driving in their games. They could almost copy and paste their existing mechanics, plus whatever editions they use this time out to improve on upon them, and they'd likely have the bulk of their development time still available for getting the driving mechanics of motorcycles fleshed out up to par with the rest of the game. Besides, it is very likely they have been looking into putting in bikes before now (probably even in PGR3), but time constraints and a very tight release deadline (MG$ needed the game at system launch), and there you go.

I'm not worried one bit and welcome the addition of bikes to the core game; if that is what we can expect.

Now if they start talking about motorboats in PGR, that is when I'd start worrying. LOL

The graphics in Forza are great, don't pay attention to the demo, the retail version blows away the demo in graphics.

@shugs

Have you played Test Drive Unlimited? It's not a racing sim by any means, but it sure is fun. I love just driving around the island crashing into other players. Incidentally, that's a game where the inclusion of motorcycles was a complete failure, but there's a wide selection of cars and challenges to keep you entertained.

@14 - I have to say that normally I'd scoff at a comment like this in some ways, but honestly, it's very true. While a nice track to race, they chose what is arguably the most boring track in the game to look at.

Also, as for playing online... the host can set the settings. If you're used to playing with more of the easy settings set up, then playing an online match where they're on is probably going to lead to you beating the shit out of your car pretty fast.

I never honestly found it to be much different from the single player of the game, although you run into some weirdos.

Dustin,

This angle for the box art is actually the next logical progression.

PGR had a far off view of a car.
PGR2 was a closer "near the nose" shot.
PGR3 was still closer - at the lights.
PGR4 is closer to the car again, at the next car "landmark" the wheel arch.

Check out the Wikipedia article to see what I mean:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Gotham_Racing_series

So it actually fits the progressing theme in the series box art. So.. the PGR5 will have to be just the name badge or the just before the B-pillar.

Personally I love the new cover.

PGR4 should be awesome. I just can't get into FORZA 2...no in-car view and is way too slow for a racer.
DIRT and PGR4 should be the best two racers for the console for some time (assuming PGR4 will get motorcycles right).
Motorcycles will be an awesome and risky change for the PGR series. Take Test Drive Unlimited as an example of what NOT to do with Motorcycles.

@14 - The graphics in the Forza 2 demo are the same as the final product. This was even confirmed by the developer shortly after the demo was released.

I own Forza 2 and PGR3. They're both great in they're own way (simulation vs. arcade), but I do have to say that PGR3 looks better - and PGR4 looks to improve the visuals even more.

Forza 2 is good, 4 me 2 poop on!
No inside dash view makes forza 2 not stand up to the other great racers on 360 no matter how much of a sim it is.

Dirt is the best looking and the most fun I think. with not 1, but 2 inside dash views!

Testdrive Unlimited delivers both great offline and online play with a shit load of cars and downloadables. Not to mention fairly good graffics, oh yeah and the inside dash view.

PGR 3 Has it's own style of play that isnt quit for me but I know it's sweet as hell to others. Add in that 4 some reason it keeps getting advertised as a ps3 game. LOL.
And a lovley inside dash view.

I wonder if the new Sega Rally is gonna stack up?

Forza has almost no sensation of speed in it :( For me it simulates what it feels like to get in a real car and drive 15 mph around town:0

Motorbikes in Test Drive don't work b/c the physics for the motorbikes are just terrible. If we could have bikes that react as beautifully as they do on Tourist Trophy then we'd have a game.

Did you also notice that there really isn't a"PGR4" car and "Kudos" wheels in real life?

They are pointing to the weather effects in the game. Maybe it's a puddle. Either way, it's box "ART".
