Puzzle Quest spreads its addictiveness to the Wii
Rumors of a Wii version of the incredibly addictive PSP/DS game Puzzle Quest have been laying still for months. Now, with an Xbox Live Arcade incarnation on its way, Amazon.com has listed Puzzle Quest Wii with a release date of September 25th. Even better: the attractive price tag of $29.99 is plastered below the box art, taunting those of us who already own a portable version of the game. Would we pick up a big-screen brother of Puzzle Quest, even if it had but a few pithy extras? Yes.[Thanks, Steve 3.2]

before anyone says anything, online in this game would be terrible.

Is that a blue-rayed sticker on the box?

This will be $40 in Canada... which is a lot of monies for games that you can play for free online.
Maxathon @ Jul 4th 2007 10:18AM
Jay, you're kidding, right? That's the logo of the inspiringly-named D3 Publisher. They're the, uh, publisher or something.

I don't see how online would be terrible. Ever play a VS match? It would be just like that. So~ Why would it be that bad, really?
Regardless of online or not, I'm still getting this. Best news I've heard all day.

Oh, i love this game. Anyone who hasn't tried it yet owe it to them self to try it out.

When the fuck are they going to release this for PC?!
zwarrior @ Jul 4th 2007 11:17AM
The Wii gets a lot of games that are conneted to the PSP, PS2, and Xbox Live. That shows their value and ultimately, the value of the system.

seriously, online would not be terrible but great simple b/c we need more online games on the wii

Oooo... my first mention. :D To add a little fuel to the fire, there's also a PS2 version listed for $20:

The XBLA version is based off the PSP version, so I'm sure any others would be the same:

Hopefully they fixed the bug though.

my guess is that you play with control pad. even if a little clunky ds controls were best. Game was good but not awesome like everyone said
Thrawn @ Jul 4th 2007 3:46PM
Damn this game and damn all you train track riddled abusers.
I had the PC demo, bought the DS game and summarily returned it unopened. I had the sense not to waste my life figuring out ways to kill those cunning opponents...convenient skulls...always laughing...
Die.
aylera @ Jul 4th 2007 7:43PM
For some reason I don't see this being very easy to use on the Wii. Unless the skulls are extra large, just a small shake in your wrist, and you'd move the wrong piece.
They can demote it down to just using the d-pad, but then what's the point of putting it on the Wii ?
I love the DS controls the best, just tap one block, tap another to move it. It's quick, precise, and you don't have to hold your arm straight the whole time :l

Learn the couch method and rest your arm somewhere. You'll still be able to use the pointer functions normally.
But on that note: It would be better if they used relational positioning as opposed to pointer positioning.

If this includes any type of online play, combined with the price point, it is a must-buy for me. Without online... It might be questionable. I've already played the game for a considerable amount of time on the PSP.
