Better get a DS now if you don't have one, because when Ragnarok Online comes out, all DS shipments will by necessity be diverted to Korea. Ragnarok, for those of you lucky enough to avoid the onset of MMO addiction, is a hugely popular Korean MMO known for its adorable 2D sprites and mascot characters (at least, that's what we know it for.) Like Maple Story, we have no idea if this will actually be a DS version of the real game, or if it'll be a smaller-scale online game, or even online at all.
In the same press release, publisher Gungho Online Entertainment announced an aquarium simulator and a flower-arranging game. That's pretty great too.

On Ragnarok Online's launch date, my bro's dslite will get lost. He is NOT going to play this game, again. Took me a few weeks of detox to get him to stop thinking of porings and all that.
My router's already banning all RO-oriented websites, and I hope this game doesnt come to US shores, because it'll be a bloody day at Target, the day he buys Rangarok Online DS... He won't have any limbs to play it though.

I wouldn't want to be your brother. That's some serious dictatorship you got there, I bet you didn't had that kind of control when you were his age.

FREAKIN YESH!!!! I've been thinking about that damned game on the DS for a while... didn't actually think someone woulda done it. Betcha if it is the online version it's gonna require an expansion cart on the second slot like for... extra storage.

The DS browser comes with an expansion pak basically for memory storage. That's the real deal with the browser just like Metroid Pinball for the rumble pak. I'm not sure if I'll buy Maple Story or Ragnarok if they come here.

no, but I mean like data storage. Perhaps the map data or music, ya know, stuff like that.

HOLY CRAP! I remember a while back...when the DS came out, I called them to ask about MMOs on the DS...but I specifically talked to them about Ragnarok Online. If this doesn't hit US shores, I'm gonna be sad...

When I heard way back when that Gungho was working on a DS project, I immediately assumed they'd bring Gravity's RO to the DS in one form or another.

I will only buy it if:
A) I get my Wi-Fi working and
B) There's no monthly fee

I'm still very doubtful that it will be a direct port which interacts with the PC game.
MMOs require a steady stream of patches due to bug/exploit/balance/new content issues, and I've yet to see this done well on DS. Memory expansions, downloadable content, etc... all quite hard to get working, and goes against the "pick up and play" nature of handhelds.
Not sure what I'm expecting. A dumbed down DS only port? Sadly, in the long run you NEED to be able to patch MMORPGs... People wont keep playing them without any new content.

Kefka's point is valid, perhaps they'll replace place content to save space? I like countless others other there would buy it in a heartbeat even if I knew it was crap. RO holds a special spot in alot of peoples lives.
