Can't wait until August 28th to play the Xbox 360-exclusive JPRG Blue Dragon? You could always import the Japanese release and stumble your way through three discs of inscrutable Japanese text or, if you can settle for a slightly smaller experience, just download the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace July 20th. The Japanese language Dengeki Online claims a 1.1GB demo will be released overseas (that's over here, folks) on July 20th, containing roughly 120 minutes of playtime. But you'd best make sure you download it in that 2-week window, since the demo will fly away on August 3rd. Now let's see, if we only play for about three and a quarter minutes a day, this demo should just last us until the retail release. Just ...

Only titles with the word 'blue' in the title will need blu-ray.

Let's see, paying $200 more for a console, or having to get up and swap discs twice during a 200 hour RPG?
I think I'll take the occasional movement. I'm already swapping discs at least once a day, as is, since my roommates play different games than I do.
Getting up off the couch is not that big of a deal. You might want to try it. So long as you don't have to do it constantly. Resident Evil 4 on the Wii made you get up and swap discs once. Was that a bad thing? Not at all.
I've said it from the start - disc swapping is fine, so long as you can boot the game off of all discs.

What ever happened to the good ole days when it was considered an achievement to get to the next disk? I remember I would go to school and talk to my friends about how I had just gotten to the last disk on (insert game here.) Those were the good days...now everyone is too lazy to get up and walk 10 feet to switch a disk every 12 hours or so...

I said "main reasons," which implies that there are other reasons behind the purchase. I'm quite certain that you realized that, but showing that you did would not aid you in bashing the X360 in some fashion.
A more accurate analogy would have been such, "That's like saying you bought a PS3 for games!"

If this game had in engine cut scenes it could fit on one disc I bet.
Oh thats right, alot of the JRPG devs don;t seem to be able to make those, so they all use pre rendered ones which HOG UP SPACE.
Sorry but when you spend have of the disk on pre rendered movies, your doing something just a tad wrong.

Heh. If you want a next gen system for JRPGs, I dont see why you WOULDNT get a 360.
-Blue Dragon
-Eternal Sonata
-Lost Oddysey
...all this year, on the 360. Can't say the same for the Wii/PS3.

@Mikeawesome: My wisdom teeth recovery time was spent sleeping (due to the drugs they gave me) and gaming on my original PlayStation. Don't be nervous....enjoy the aftermath!

Why does anyne care about a game having more than once disc? I don't see what the pros/cons of it are....I mean it's really nothing. How can you be perfectly ok with multiple discs on a DVD box set but then claim "OMG m$ us tottlay screw up haha blue ray" when talking about games.
But then again, these are PS3 fanboys. Enjoy the ride down guys.

I love multiple-disc games. FFVII peaks my interest in particular, because each disc was a buildup to a huge climax, and then the beginning of the next disc would be a calm phase before the next big buildup. It was like an epic story divided into individual stories, each with their own plotline.
