Hudson admits Bomberman: Act Zero was bad

Private confession is good for the soul. Public confession is good for image and marketing. Hudson, in the latest of their kooky videos, goofs around about the upcoming Bomberman Live (expected before the end of July) and just flat out admits Bomberman: Act Zero as an absolute mistake. Although low on details, the video is a fun little thing to watch, with a nice bit of political incorrectness that pokes fun at everybody -- and brings the Wii into the discussion while people fake playing Bomberman Live.

We'd be excited for Bomberman Land on the Wii if recent events hadn't reminded us how unfriendly the Wii is to online. Although Bomberman Land for the Wii and DS are expected later this year, Bomberman Live looks to be the way to go for the Bomberman faithful. And at an expected 800 MS point price ($10), that kinda beats anything that the Wii and DS versions will have at $29.99+ with limited online functionality. Keep it simple, keep it fun, keep it multiplayer friendly -- that should be the Bomberman mantra.

Nice! Funny stuff. Kudos fto Hudson for taking this approach. I for one appreciate the self-referential humour. It's works far better than insulting compeditors. Very good job guys!

This actually makes me less excited for this game. I wish they'd spend more time talking about what they did, and not make endless sarcastic "let's make it suck, hehehe" jokes.

I thought Konami had something to do with Bomberman: Act Zero, which is what lent towards its suckishness

Every console owner should have at least one copy of Bomberman, and i got mine for Wii (93)

Now i just need to convince my 360 friends to get Bomberman Live...

I think they knew that it was lousy all along. That's why they had Konami publish it instead of publishing it themselves.

Konami has been Hudson's majority shareholder (53.99%) since April 2005. Hence why some of Hudson's games have been published by them.

And this video is awesome. I'm downloading it to my DS.

Bomberman is so damn good. One time I beat the single-player "campaigns" of Bomberman 1, 2, and 3 on the NES in one sitting. I have no idea why I did it. It was the boringest bore ever. But I had to do it. 'Cuz (multiplayer) Bomberman is the best thing in life, and playing the crappy single player mode was the sacrifice I made to it. I just had to get that off my chest.
