Gamespot noticed a brief addendum on the bottom of yesterday's press release announcing Michael Giacchino as the game's composer that stated the PS3 version would arrive in November. A previous trailer for the game, embedded after the break, gave the release date August 28 and implied that it was identical across all three platforms.
No reason was cited for the delay. The game appears to still be on track for an August 28 release in North America (August 24 in Europe) for Xbox 360 and PC owners.

C'mon Sheppy, I don't care either - but how would like someone bashing one of your DJ MAXX games?
Anyways, Kakihara, that news you linked to is crazy!

Of course not. What's important is the broad pattern of developers that are pushing back release dates, cutting back features and performance, and/or adding multiplatform support to their PS3 titles.
I am still trying to understand the current popular rationale of the Sony fanboys, who state that Sony customers should not be put off by these announcements because it only shows that third-party developers are lazy.
Not too lazy to produce software for the Xbox 360 or the Wii, mind you, but just lazy enough to cut their PS3 games to half speed, or to indefinitely delay their PS3 releases.
Continuing to follow the reasoning here, customers should not be deterred in the slightest from paying $600 for a platform that has underperforming software, when the software is released at all. After all, why should Sony be made to suffer for the consummate sloth and stupidity of all of those third-party developers?
Yes, I recognize that Sony has some promising exclusives coming out this year. I am looking forward to seeing Little Big Planet and Heavenly Sword. But Sony, unlike Nintendo, can't survive without third-party support, and they are going to have to come up with a more enticing rejoinder to third-party developers than, "We don't buy exclusives." or "You guys can't program worth shit."

wow... ever think i pass them every day on my way out the door?

I mean there is more than enough flame bait between the next-gen systems. We are gamers and we like games.
It's like you are mad that 360 owners actually have games to play and not just a sweet system to fold proteins. See that...I just made a generic generalization too.

I look at my TV, see a large white box chugging away, and feel only apprehension.

Now what I've seen of "Airborne" is very promising and it could be just the revitalizing force the series needs (until it moves to a different theater of war, which will hopefully be soon). But there's just too much coming out around it to compete with:
BioShock - sleeper hit of the year, guaranteed, coming out the same week (until now anyway)
all of the yearly sports updates - Tony Hawk, Madden, Tiger, newcomer SKATE., etc.
Mass Effect - first week of September? second week?
Halo 3 - 'nuff said
GTA 4 - 'nuff said
It would've been lost in the shuffle. This is a wise move on EA's part; even if the delay IS a result of development issues, it's going to give the game a better chance of making a splash in the end.

Why someone would want to pay $500 to $600 to see Toby Maguire's nose hairs in 1080p high definition I will never know. I'm too busy playing my games.

Which suxx on PS3.
To date only ONE game with this engine WORKS on PS3.
And it taken ONLY 7 months of porting.
R6:Vegas.
If game with less effects, slightly worse framerate and 1080i scaling problem is example of how UE3 works on PS3....

Partially, I agree with you. But only partially. Main reason why I say that is because the people who keep doing this are NOT exactly top teir developers. Activision, Ubisoft, EA, Sega... the list reads like a variable "Remember when they used to rock" transcript of a podcast.
The Playstation Edge tools need to be improved dramatically, possibly even to the point XNA conversion tools. But I have a hard time believing even that would suddenly make EA work hard. I mean, hell, one need only look at all those companies behaviors at 360s launch to fuel any arguement you want to make. So while on one hand it's a continuing sign of the times, on the other, it's not like these studios are "known for their hard work."
Sony tools need to improve but considering the performance Sony and Bethesda are getting out of the machine that EA cannot be bothered with, it's also hard to make an arguement that somehow, PS3 sucks flatout instead of "PS3 is hard to work with."
Therein lies the problem, Sony needs to make it easier. Period.

um, EA and UBI are the biggest two developers in the industry. still. they certainly haven't been cutting corners on their games for 360.
to call them 'has beens' and not 'top tier' because they don't see the value in figuring out such overwhelmingly cryptic hardware with so little help, for so little few is being more than a bit disingenuous.
oldschoolgamer,
you were praising the PS3 not so long ago, why the change of tune?
