New BlackSite trailer (temporarily) excites us again
Inevitably, these internal tete-a-tetes end with us remembering what other game is being released in September. Then we decide our feelings on the game are probably moot.

The demo was horribly disappointing, but this trailer gives me hope. Still think the alien design is lame though.
On a different note, am I the only one who thinks Frontlines: Fuel of War looks pretty damn fun?

A trailer should never be considered above a demo when creating impressions of the game. A gameplay video with cinematic camera angles is something else, but a trailer is inherently worthless. You need to have a trust for the game before the trailer is anything other than a completely unconnected video with coincidentally similar subject matter. Games with focus on their storyline such as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear can show meaningful trailers while neglecting game play, but they have a successful past that warrants it. CGI trailers are heavily abused by several games that cannot offer a comparably engaging experience when it's in your home system. I'm giving up on this game until a good demo comes out, or it's finally released and reveals what it really is.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed the demo?
Curt @ Jul 6th 2007 2:01PM
The demo was alright in my opinion. I'm a casual gamer and was impressed considering its Midway and that the arcade game was cheesy as fuck. I hope they tweak it some more though but I think it has potential. It definately looks good on the HD. But looks aint everything. Guess we will find out in a few months what this game is made of. Until then I reserve my judgement....

@ dux I liked the demo too. Just wasnt blown away by the gameplay but I liked it better than Resistance in that lil sample of gameplay

I'm really interested in Blacksite if only because its tackling moral and ethical issues within current events but then I'm also going to be spending $150 on Halo 3 so its probably going to wait until 2008.

I really liked the demo apart from the horrible lag/framerate problems it had.. But it's just a demo.. I will definately pick this one up.. Halo 3 is waaay overhyped.. I will get it for the SP campaign and play for it a week and then throw it in the used bin just like with Halo 2. Halo MP is for whiney 13yo boys with far too much time wrapped up in video games.. Complete crap experience IMO. SP Campaign FTW!

I am pretty sure if I had the choice between rifle-butting one of those things in the face, or shitting myself, I would go with option 2.
AssemblyLineHuman @ Jul 6th 2007 3:34PM
Blah! The voice dude sounds like he's reminiscing happily about being shot at and seeing fear in people's eyes.

If this game had come out last feb or march (or next feb march) it would have been a nice little FPS to pick up and been cool. Instead the release it in September...
Stock holders, sell!! The management of Midway is mentally unstable!

@ 1:
How the Hell can you say the alien designs are lame? Have you seen the Halo series? Those alien designs are lame as shit... Not to mention I was pretty damn impressed with these designs...
Curt @ Jul 7th 2007 8:11AM
The helicopter sequence looked cool as hell to me.
