Bungie Day: New pics of Halo 3's Chopper, Spartan variants

Hopefully you put out your wooden Warthogs and left a plate of overshields and a glass of milk under the tree this morning, because (as you should already know) today's Bungie Day! So how does this stack up to other holidays? Well, it's Saturday, so many of you can pretend that you got off of work for it. Bungie Day: 1, Arbor Day: 0.

Also, holidays don't typically bring us new, free picture packs and themes on Marketplace (available today only). Similarly, we can't remember the last time a fat dude or a bunny brought 3D screenshots from Halo 3 and a page of info on the Brute Chopper, and Spartan variants C.Q.B. and E.V.A. Bungie Day: 2, Christmas and Easter: 0.

Unfortunately, Bungie Day offers no opportunity to steal candy from kids or dress up like a sexy nurse, which keeps holidays from getting shut out entirely. There's always next year, Bungie!

The helmet's fine, but to me it just looks weird that the armor, despite it being already different, still looks a lot like Chief's armor. Maybe it's just the color too.

The game just keeps getting prettier. It's going to be an interesting battle of the heavyweights this E3, but I know Halo 3 is going to steal to show simply because they're finally going to debut the campaign mode. The only thing that could generate more hype is an MGS4 on 360 announcement.

That helmet looks like the one from Haze.

This thing looks freakin' retarted. What a dumb ass design! And the helmet looks like they ripped off the Haze helmet. Hell, that'll probably be a better game anyway.

Kind of like the Mjornir suit for the Spartan-IIIs.

Ghosts of Onyx, people!

i like the helmet...kind of reminds me of gray fox from metal gear solid...though i'm not quite sure why.

This looks awesome; true next-gen. Don't just look at the picture, download the movie that allows the object to be rotated in 3-D. Can't wait to see the campaign game in action. The only possible negative I see with Halo 3 now is I won't want to go back to Halo 1 and 2 because the graphics, which were good for their day, have just been made to look old. The software line-up for the 360 just gets more compelling for anyone still sitting on the fence.

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one that knew this armor was on the cover of the Ghost of Onyx book..If anything Haze took that helmet from Halo..GOD...

That's because it *isn't* the helmet from the Ghosts of Onyx book. That would be SPI armor, which this is not.

That's not to say that SPI isn't in the game (it probably is), but the armor in Ghost of Onyx is not only lighter weight, but the helmet has a weird-ass bump on the top of it.

The design is similar, but the geometry is off.

It isn't the S-IIIs armour, since they use SPI armour, not MJOLNIR. As said by Bungie in the new update, this is a variant of the MJOLNIR to be more efficient for zero g environment travel.

The helmet makes sense, better peripheral vision. I like it.

Unfortunatly, that helmet reminds me of one thing... The new Secret Movie from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+... I did say UNFORTUNATLY. =(

I would dig the theme a lot better if I could see the photo on the main blade. Thanks to Xbox thinking that even though I pay them for live service they can still post big blocks of ads on my blades I can't really see it.

They need to allow you to turn off the ads. It isn't like they update them all that much.

They make you pay money for themes only to block them with ads. Yeah...that's a GREAT idea!

Karl: No. They're pretty, but if Wii're (see, I can do it too!) not already jealous of the graphics from games games like Gears of War and BioShock (*coughpccough*), Halo 3 isn't going to change anyone's minds. Of course, I'll be getting a 360 eventually, but unless Microsoft does something about the hardware failures, it won't be until after the PS3.

Well Anticrawl I had only heard of Live members who moved their accounts from the original Xbox to the 360 had that honor. I have read that the ads are removed for children accounts.

Now if there is something I missed by all means, my mistake but seeing as there have been a number of people comment on this on a number of different websites I don't think it's just me being an idiot.

It still doesn't make up for the fact that I pay a subscription fee and still have to look at ads usually for content or accessories I already own.

Quit whinig about the ads. I pay a lot of money for cable and I still have to watch commercials.

I'm so using that helmet. Why? Make the armor white and the spartan would look exactly like a toy I had when I was a kid.

Fist off, who cares? It's not like your dashboard is a game or something that the ads are intruding on. They aren't putting ads up during a game, so your comparison to ads during a TV show makes no sense. Second, cable companies DO show ads during shows. Ever seen those pop-ups in the corner where they will advertise another show? Happens all the time.

I know it's not technically Master Chief but I hate that helmet on Chief's armor...love how shiny it looks but like others commented, I think it should go with a different armor or maybe a redesigned character model...the head is too big with that body, reminds me of the glowing orb from the movie Sphere. I guess it will help me score headshots come September :)

Actually, it isn't the same armour, the chest plate, back plate and shoulder plates are different. The gauntlets and legs however are the same.

Yeah, that definitely looks like Haze. First thing that popped into my mind. I want to get a 360, but I am afraid of it breaking and I don't want to pay $50 a year for online. Oh well.
