I'm grown. I'll play what I want. I don't care what kind of looks I get.

Also, in response to the Pokemon comment, your mom is for babies.

hahaha, in no way would I lie about what I'm playing. Hell, if I'm playing Doki Doki Majo Shinpan, I'll say I'm playing it, even if it's not socially acceptable in the US. HAHAHAHA, even when the rub rabbits came out, I'd be playing that for about a month and I would tell my friends that I'm playing that. They just give me a weird look, but I loved the game.

I don't lie about what I play since I'm not embarrassed about them. I mostly play games like Zelda, Castlevania, the Mario games and things along those lines. I guess I'm a little different since I really don't too much care for the weird games such as Cooking Mama or Brain Age. As for Pokemon being for babies I don't know as I have never played a Pokemon game and probably never will. But it that's what you like stand proud by your gaming choice.

The only DS "game" I own that I am embarrassed about is the DS Browser. I should get rid of it or hide it or something. Other than that, I am proud to tell anyone that I am playing Pokemans, or even FF: Chocobo Tales.

I'm not really worried about fellow adults that know I play Pokemon. I'm more worried about the 6-12 year olds that find out I play Pokemon. I've been on vacation this past week, and I was asked more times than I have body parts to count on to show them my Pokemans.

Wait, people play the DS in public?

And people actually raise the assbug?

Mind = blown

I'm 27 and proud to play Pokemon. I even tell my friends who are mostly non-gamers that I am playing it.

It makes for good conversation, my friends think it's funny and ridiculous how outraged I become when I talk about unfair trades on the GTS. I've actually persuaded one of them to buy a DS and a copy of the game.

A good game is a good game, even if it is marketed towards children.

I've discovered something. If a little kid asks me what I'm playing, I can answer whatever I want since he'll probably forget after about five minutes. If a preteen asks what I'm playing, anything that isn't specifically aimed at toddlers is okay. If a teenager or young adult asks, I tell the truth and explain that even though the anime is lame the Pokémon games are still quite good. Anybody from about 26 to 45 probably won't ask, so it's not an issue; if they do then I can be honest because a middle-aged person who plays games is likely to be more open minded than a teenager. Anybody older than that is more likely to ask "Did you win?" instead of what I'm playing, to which I simply answer yes.

Basically, the answer depends on who's asking, but for the most part there's no reason to lie.

I get embarrassed. That's why I hated when the old pokemon games had colored cartridges, because you couldn't lie. I'm a fan of the regular gray cartridges that diamond and pearl are on.

I only play games everyone else says is cool so I never have to be embarrassed

PS: my self worth is directly connected to how other people feel about the video games I play ;)

That photochop is awesome. *Saves*

That said, I do lie, in ocassions, on what I'm playing, IF i'm playing Pokemon.

I dont expect the general population to understand. They're idiots. :-)

For me I'm past being cool. But when I was playing Pokemon Pearl I would make jokes about playing it. At my own expense of coarse.

In Pokemon's case, i would tell my teenaged peers what i've said before, if you get beyond that stupid anime, there's nothing particularly kiddie about it

I would lie about watching the show, if i did (i don't, honestly)

I wouldn't lie about playing Tingle, because the only people who know who he is would just laugh about it, and the kind of people who WOULD make fun of it don't know who the hell Tingle is anyway

I'm 25 and admit to playing Pokemon... and then I pass out the death threats.

In all honesty, I usually comment on how I voice chat with my friend in another town for hours (whilst battling and trading), and how it pretty much counts for free long distance with added activity to stave off the boredom.

Then un-DS-acquainted-"they" consider all the benefits...

Oh this one hits home.

I was in line for people who preordered Pokemon the day of its release and I was the ONLY male in line. I'm 30 and I was also the only one above 15. A sweet crosseyed youngster next to me told me how "cool" I was for getting both games.

Recently, a friend at work inquired about my DS (he's a PSP guy). I showed him my games and it surprised me that I have 10 games...all rated "E." Who cares right? I did recently trade Pokemon for Age of Empires (also rated E), but not because of the mounting pressure I put on myself to grow up...I just finally got tired of Pokemon for another year or two.

I just laugh, and then piont out that setting aside the Anime, Poke'mon is really a very solid RPG. True they're a little kiddy, but so are Zelda, Mario, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Sonic and allot more games I grew up.

People don't ask me what I play...since I don't have any friends and I'm hiding under a rock all day.

Fun!

being a teenager myself who plays pokemon, people ask me about what game I play and tell them pokemon. Hell I even wrote an article about how good it was in the school newspaper. I don't care, its fun. Initially my friends made fun of me and just remembered back to when they had the original games. I then show them my game and they thought it was good. Somehow most of my friends have now bought a ds and pokemon. I wonder why...?

My 25th birthday party had Pokemon decorations. It was awesome. My friends mostly aren't gamers, but no one gave me grief. Of course, the same friends got me a Blues Clues birthday cake in college (to my delight), so I suppose nothing fazes them any longer.

Unfortunately I'm very slow at getting around to playing the games (three years later I'm finally playing the copy of Sapphire I received that day), but I'm not ashamed of my love for all things Pokemon! I even like the anime -- it's just the movies that suck.

So guys I'm not gonna lie to you, I actually don't even say I play videogames in public, and only to close friends I tell about my Pokemans, and that Its kinda nerdy, but I just play it cuz I like the game.

Also I never bring my DS or my Pokemans to the public. I only play games at home.
