The saga of Civilization coming to consoles and portables via Civilization Revolution has been marred by one particularly vexing question, namely: which consoles and portables is it actually coming to? When the game was first announced a few weeks ago, 2K's press release ambiguously said it was coming to "next generation consoles and handhelds" in Spring 2008. Then word broke that it might not be coming to Wii. Now, a new press release on 2K Games' E3 lineup lists a Wii version of the game coming in Fall 2008, well after Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and DS versions in Spring 2008. A PSP version was not listed in the release.
What in the name of all civilization is going on? A spokesperson for 2K Games said a PSP version has not been announced and could not confirm either way whether one was in development. As for the Wii version, the spokesperson confirmed that it is coming but had no comment on why it would be so late. Who knows how many more system permutations will be speculated before the game finally comes out.

Wii users will have to wait 6 months to get the game...then wait 6 extra minutes while the processor calculates the computers moves each round.

Ugh, why are they calling it Civilization Revolution? Too many companies are putting "Revolution" in the titles of all the Wii games, just like DS games had stuff like "Dual Strike" and "Deadly Silence", and N64 games all had "64", and GBA games had "Advance", and SNES games all had "Super".
Publishers: YOU DON'T NEED TO REFERENCE THE NAME (or codename) OF THE CONSOLE IN THE TITLE OF THE GAME. IT'S GETTING OLD.

And it is coming for Xbox 360, PS3 and DS. Not just the Wii. So maybe it's revolutionary! I doubt it.

Shag does have a point though.
Even with my dual core 3800X2 and 2 GB of RAM, in CivIV, the game starts chugging later in the game when most of the world is spoken for. It does start taking like 20-30 seconds for your next turn .

Sorry Matt no one wants to hear the truth...and besides they can always dumb down the AI to make up for it just like they dumb down all the other games on Wii.

pc and console are 2 different things. first, what resolution are you running the game at. how well can the game scale on the PC. in other words, how high are your graphics settings.
alot of your power is used by windows and everything else that runs besides the game. do you have anti-virus, IM, etc...
the game will be optimised for the wii, so that it shouldnt be a problem. they will be working at a much lower res then your pc runs at, so that will ease the burden alot. the wii also has much faster ram and a more specialised cpu all dedicated only to the game allowing for a better experience.
