PlayStation Network back up (updated)

In what is either one serious case of unfortunate timing or preparation for E3 madness, the entire PlayStation Network appears to be offline, as seen here. Sony previously announced that they'll be bringing E3 to PS3 users, so perhaps this outage is in preparation for that. We'll let you know as soon as we hear something.

[Update: The PSN appears to be up now, though the PlayStation Store is still offline.]

[Update 2: After briefly going back down entirely, the whole thing seems to be operational now. Anyone notice any changes?]

hehe, I'm sure Sony has some cool stuff they are going to do w/ PSN and E3-- maybe some REALLY big stuff. I'd say it'll probably be a worthy sacrifice.

They said they'll be streaming the press conference. Maybe they were preparing for that since, to my knowledge, PSN has yet to handle mass treaming.

The network is back up but the store is down. If what is posted there is part of the new look and and indicator of things to come then I think this will be smart for Sony. I like it.

Or more importantly, at what point does it bother Nintendo that Joystiq is using a Mario graphic everywhere. Joystiq makes serious ad money off of the comments that people write, and if those comments are more appealing as a result of Mario being everywhere... well they're making money off of a Nintendo trademark. Right?

This must be from the 10 people that went out and bought a ps3 because of the price drop. they all 10 connected to the psn at the same time and brought it to its knees!!

In the PS Store, you can use R1 and L1 to move to the next and previous pages. Also if you mouse over one of the sections (ex. Featured Items) it will light up. Also the font is smaller for "Featured Items", "Games", "Videos", etc. That is all I see that is different.

Who cares if the stores offline why do you think they might be updateing it for E3. Onlines back so its all good.
