Trauma Center: New Blood (Wii) unveiled
Famitsu unveiled today a brand new way to play doctor on the Wii: Trauma Center: New Blood. The biggest new feature will be a two player cooperative mode that lets you and a friend hack into bodies/save lives together. Sounds like the perfect activity for couples' counseling sessions, as well. New Blood will also feature a fresh cast of characters, new missions, and online leaderboards to see who's the handiest with a scalpel.

How about the UK gets the FIRST Wii Trauma Center? Please?
Nushio @ Jul 10th 2007 11:06AM
Woah, Co-op, I wasn't expecting! Sweet!
I just beat Trauma Center Second Opinion, can't wait for this one!
ELUNO @ Jul 10th 2007 11:07AM
OMG I am totally getting it.
ck @ Jul 10th 2007 11:07AM
Despite all the trailers that have come out this week for new games, I'm excited the most about Trauma Center.
Those games are just fun and addicting.
Can't wait. Hopefully we'll see more promising (not Speilberg) titles announced for the Wii in the next few days.

Holy shit this is awesome!! Trauma Center is IMO the best implemented Wii game to date, and it just has this catch to it.
I have just mentioned to parents and friends "hey there is this Wii game where you perform surgery" and EVERYONE wants to play.
This game is a blast, the tension is so high, and the cheesy storyline is great.
I could never have guessed coop, but thats awesome!
I WILL OWN THIS GAME.
Almack64 @ Jul 10th 2007 3:54PM
I agree it is one of the best implemented wii games. I rented and beat the first but I think I will own this one. The idea of Co-op rocks.
Nushio @ Jul 10th 2007 11:11AM
I just noticed the Wide-screen. Awesome.
I just hope they allow for "regular" TVs as well...
Nushio @ Jul 10th 2007 11:13AM
Oh, and can they *please* bring Sexy Nurse Angie back? She's the reason I played the game :P
KuMog @ Jul 10th 2007 11:13AM
The artwork reminds me of Front Mission 3,4 and 5's artwork. Who does the artwork for this game(s)?
Airen @ Jul 10th 2007 12:02PM
The character designer for the Wii Trauma Centers is the person who does the designs for the Shin Megami Tensei games. Her (?) name escapes me at the moment.
sheppy @ Jul 10th 2007 11:17AM
I would have preferred the second on DS but any more Trauma Center love in genereal is good stuff.
Martez @ Jul 10th 2007 11:22AM
Sounds cool, looking forward to seeing more of it.
Alex @ Jul 10th 2007 11:32AM
I never thought I'd say this, but this really needs to be voice acted. What was remarkably fresh and exciting on the DS suddenly felt very low-budget on the Wii, and it's not as if the whole melodramatic medical drama business doesn't lend itself to VA anyway.
belcho @ Jul 10th 2007 11:36AM
Whoa online leaderboards on the Wii?!? Slow down Nintendo.
Crono @ Jul 10th 2007 1:18PM
I wondered how long it would take someone to notice online leaderboards.
Holy crap, an online feature!
Plaid Ninja @ Jul 10th 2007 11:40AM
At least this one looks to have 16:9 support.
duerra @ Jul 10th 2007 11:55AM
I *loved* the first Trauma Center for the Wii. However, I have to agree with Alex on this one. The lack of voice acting in the first game got old with me very quickly, especially with how many screens of text that you have to go through for the dialog parts of the game. This game, at a minimum, needs voice acting. I can understand if they don't want to budget for animation, but come on - they still charge $50 for this game. If I'm paying $50, put $50 worth of effort into developing the game, ok? I can safely say that unless this game gets a 9.0 rating or better across the board, I will not be purchasing this game if it does not have voice acting.
zwarrior @ Jul 10th 2007 11:56AM
I never understood the hype for this franchise.
The female doctor looks like Nicole Ari Parker

Where is my Scrubs first-person shooter?
ThornedVenom @ Jul 10th 2007 12:38PM
I wasn't too interested in this game, but co-op mode and online leaderboards? I think that's a system-seller.
The strength of the Wii may be arcade-type games.... HURRAY!

Atlus USA is proud to announce Trauma Center: New Blood for the Wii, a new entry in the award-winning Trauma Center series!
Keep your hands steady and your mind focused – this time around there’s a lot more on the line. Every cut of the scalpel, every pinch of the forceps, each and every second that ticks by is of the absolute greatest importance. If you think it's too much to handle alone, invite a friend to assist with the operation and work together to save patients from flat-lining. The adrenaline is pumping, lives are at stake, and only you can save the day. Have you got what it takes?
Trauma Center: New Blood has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
About Trauma Center: New Blood:
At a remote hospital in Alaska, Dr. Markus Vaughn quietly toils, a surgeon who has forsaken the politics and power struggles of his former ward. He is content to use the power he has discovered within himself, the Healing Touch, to positively affect the lives of those in need. His partner is Valerie Blaylock, a promising young doctor eager to
unlock her own dormant abilities. When the facility unexpectedly closes, they are forced to return to Concordia Medical Institute, where politics are more important than patient’s lives, and doctors more concerned with image than their ministration. There they are
recruited into the government organization Caduceus, where they will learn of a conspiracy with dire ramifications, and their lives will be changed forever!
Key Features:
•Two Player Cooperative Play! For the first time in the series, work with a friend to race against the clock and save lives…success will require teamwork and communication – Every second counts!
•All-New Story, Characters, and Operations! Depend on a brand new medical team for support and advice as you tackle new emergencies.
•Fully Voiced Dialogue! Characters will come to life as never before as they speak to you during operations and story cutscenes.
•Full 480p and 16x9 Widescreen Support!
•Online Score Ranking System!
megaStryke @ Jul 10th 2007 12:58PM
"Fully-voiced dialog." There you go, people. Be merry.
OhJustSomeRandomGuy @ Jul 10th 2007 1:07PM
First off, I just want to say that "New Blood" is a fantastic subtitle.
Second, adding voice acting and multiplayer co-op to the game that probably most naturally uses the Wii's motion sensing is a nice touch. Now it won't feel like a straight DS port.
Third... Is it just me or is the nurse (and I'm assuming second player character) actually... Not White or Asian!? That's unheard of for an anime-style game from Japan!
zwarrior @ Jul 10th 2007 2:45PM
She could be tan or ganguro. j/k
BPM @ Jul 10th 2007 2:55PM
How sexist of you. Assuming she's a nurse, just because she's a woman.
The press release even says she's a doctor!
(Hah, I kid, I kid)
SuperMario21 @ Jul 10th 2007 1:09PM
Trauma Center for the Wii seems to be alot better than the 1st one already. I will have to pick it up when it comes out.
Crono @ Jul 10th 2007 1:21PM
Sweetness.
Kasey @ Jul 10th 2007 1:26PM
Looks like I'll soon be injuring my wrists by frantically drawing stars in the air, again.
josearoldan @ Jul 10th 2007 1:43PM
I never got to play the first one on the Wii but I did get to play the DS one and I have to admit I have replayed it like 3 or 4 times I love the game, maybe Ill pass around my gamestop and get a copy of the first one on Wii this weekend.
Spongie @ Jul 10th 2007 1:49PM
Meh.....
Evan @ Jul 10th 2007 2:08PM
Voice acting is a step in the right direction, but I'd also like to be able to make storyline decisions outside of the operating room.
Jacob @ Jul 10th 2007 2:20PM
Seriously, release the first damn game in Europe already!
Almack64 @ Jul 10th 2007 4:06PM
Really they haven't released it in Europe yet. That kinda sucks.
Prime @ Jul 11th 2007 7:26AM
I fully expect this game to receive an AO rating.
Abscissa @ Jul 11th 2007 5:31PM
A new Trauma Center sounds great, but I really hope they knock it off with that goofy "GUILT" stuff.
Wyvern @ Jul 22nd 2007 10:49PM
I want to know what the plot will be. GUILT wouldn't make sense if you beat the first game and a new virus would, to me, seem stupid. I don't like the idea of new doctors. I liked Derek, Angie, and Kimishima.(sp?) D:
Other than that, this will utterly rape. ONLINE FEATURE FOR THE WII.
