When Nintendo announces a new peripheral, it's big news, and big news needs big images. They sent along a high resolution picture of their new Zapper, and we thought we'd pass it on to you so you can begin your careful inspection of Nintendo's workmanship and industrial design.
Also, this might work as a reference model for a papercraft version, if you're impatient and want the semi-authentic feel of a Wii Zapper in your hands. Click the image to embiggen it greatly!

I'll be the first to say: That looks absolutely AWESOME. I can imagine holding it right now. Fun stuff. =D

That looks pretty awesome!
I hope they release games designed for use with the zapper.

I have to be honest...
I'm kinda disappointed. This really is no different than the "gun cradles" third parties have made already.
The trigger? I'm betting all it does is presses down on the Wii Remote's own B button (it'd have to, since the only thing plugged into the Wii Remote is the Nunchuk).
Now, the Zapper shown at last E³... That was pretty cool. Oh, well.

Medal of Honor is specifically designed for the Zapper.
It's not a coincidence that it looks a bit like an assault rifle.

It looks like it would be frustrating to have to move a character around with the Nunchuck controller. I'd much rather play without that gun cradle and just point and shoot, as was intended for the Wii. The old model looked a lot better though, this one looks clunky.

I think this will work, because of the two handed nature of the gun. I tried playing Call of Duty 3 and Resident Evil 4 holding the Wiimote and nunchuck in the same manner as this gun, and it felt comfy.

I don't get it when people say games specifically designed for the zapper. Its just a cradle holding the wiimote with the nunchuck behind it. How do you design a game specifically for that? It looks kinda weak. The way the cord out of the bottom of the wiimote kinda sticks out and then goes around, and how they always showed it with teh wiimote strap dangling. The one from last year was much cooler. They could have made one that actually replaces the nunchuck and the wiimote plugs into

the zapper was made specifically for FPS, and the reason why there are games specificaly made for it is because there won't be a larege usage of the - or + button , or any other button on the screen. its trying to get you in a better experience with FPS, also about games specifically for it, they announced that it will be 19.99 and have a game bundled with it, also they did say a couple of other games like resident evil umbrella chronicles, so yeah, that makes a load of sense.

It looks like some parts are removable. I wonder if you can take the trigger and put it in the back. Probably, just wishful thinking on my part...

I like it cuz it looks just like a Tommy Gun. They totally gotta make a Dick Tracy game to work with this zapper.

I will wait to actually use it or see it in use until I pass judgement on Nintendo's gun. I will say that the gun in this article, http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/bam-bam/wii-light-gun-makes-duck-hunt-all-next+gen-262561.php , looks cooler and probably would play the exact same way as the official first party gun. Just my two cents.

I don't see any point in the zapper addons because I am using the wii on a projector... I have to point below the screen, which means I am aiming nowhere near what I want to shoot... Personally I wish nintendo would have used a 4 point positioning system instead of the 2 in the "sensor" bar.... if there were a point of reference for each corner of your screen then the wiimote would have a VERY accurate aim, no matter what size screen you used...

It looks like a piece of plastic with a little storage room for the wire.
it's still 19$ for a piece of plastic and i want to hold my hands next to each other

ok, here's my two cents. i know that this will probably be fun for fps's. but for shooting gallery games the wii kind of lacks any skill. i mean back in the day with duck hunt there wasn't a giant aiming cursor on screen, you literally had to line up your sight and shoot. i just find that more realistic and challenging.

I have to say, this is a big step down from the prototype. I thought nintendo was all about feel and ergonomics with their controllers. This thing looks VERY akward.

I don't like the idea of having to force my hands together in the official model just to have a trigger at a normal angle. After seing it, I am now totally excited about this one (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/bam-bam/wii-light-gun-makes-duck-hunt-all-next+gen-262561.php ). Thanks, Don Day! Has anyone heard anything about this? I even like that it has a pass-through for the nunchuk. I can see this making Scarface perfect.

I'm thrilled with the potential games tuned for Zapper.
Zapper does provide only three buttons, what means that game has to be a 100% shooter. More is just impossible on three buttons only.
It looks (and it is) ugly, but I think if there would be decent games for it - I wouldn't notice it ;)

my concern is that Nyko's battery lid will make the wiimote unable to fit into this... =\
and slightly related, i kinda wish Umbrella Chronicle's trigger was the Z button instead of the B; wouldve made more sense and more comfortable
