This is certainly one of the strangest E3 appointment reminders we've received. Konami's media briefing begins at 5:45PM PST, and Konami has sent a cryptic poem, hinting at a major, unexpected announcement:What better way

What could this "major announcement" be? If it's supposed to be "unexpected," it better not be Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360. Seriously. Stay tuned to Joystiq for live coverage from the press conference.

Let's assume that IS the announcement. Would they say "come for an expected major announcement"? I say MGS4 on 360, or at least some sort of news regarding MGS. It better not be about ZOE or some shit like that.

I don't think there'll be a demo, but MGS4 will NOT be confirmed for 360 today. It'll more likely be that the game is being released this year..

Cedar, that's what I posted above. There is an exclusive trailer on PSN today right after the show. But demo this year is a very real possibility. On the part about the game coming this year, I keep seeng that trailer from last year with 2008 being painted out and corrected to 2007. Kojima is notoriously picky so I'll just wait and see.

Well, I'm not sure it's "expected". It's been "speculated" that they MAY announce MSG4 for the 360. As far as I know, that hasn't been confirmed. Anyone have any real evidence that MSG4 on 360 will happen?

Dude, where were you when a Konami exec clearly said there was a good possiblity the title would hit "another system"? That could mean PC or 360, and it only means about a 50% chance.

metal gear solid 4 will be coming in Oct. for ps3 only and include differen6t game play from raiden to snake
and you get to shoot 360 owners in the chest and collect Mario cart and drive around in the snake cart for ps3 only.are probably castlevania ps3 title only exclusive to the ps3

Keep holding your breath but it won't be MGS4 on the 360. Kojima has already stated he is using almost all of the BR disc capacity. MGS4 on the 360 would be a 10 disc set.

Maybe he's using it the way Bethesda used it for Oblivion PS3--arranging data throughout the disc to increase load times.

10 DVDs would be about 47 to 85 GB of space (depending on single or dual layering). Blu-Ray discs currently come in 25 GB (single layer) and 50 GB (dual layer) capacities.
So yeah, if Kojima is using all of a dual layer's capacity, it could easily be 11 single layer DVDs. However, it would be more reasonable to use dual layer DVDs for that, so 6 discs. Nothing PC gamers aren't already used to, amirite guys?

Its the MGS movie.. they are going to announce all the details. Sony (via Columbia) will flip the bill for it, thus, eliminating all speculation of MGS4 on 360 once and for all.

Anyone who wants to see MGS4 exclusively on PS3 cares nothing about the future of the franchise, apparently.
Releasing games exclusively to one console is idiotic anyway - it reaches back to the bleak history of video cards on the PC, where certain games would only work for one or the other, retailers lost sales, and consumers lost interest.
