Tooo many good games coming out....

Unfortunately, I think this one may be something I buy in 2008...Halo 3 will surely be keeping me busy throughout December and January.

I think if you're an Xbox 360 owner your wallet will definitely hurt the most this winter. Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey... There's probably some that I'm forgetting =P

Well. This means that I have ANOTHER game to buy this winter. My wife is going to beat me over the head with a hot frying pan.

I really hope that the "Zero Suit" isn't Samus's default costume. I hate that thing.

I don't like it either. Sure it looks "hot" but she looks more like a "generic skin tight clothes fighting game girl" and not like Samus. The regular armor adds personality and style.

Personally, I dislike the Zero Suit because it makes her into a sex symbol instead of a badass bounty hunter that kicks ass across the galaxy.

By the way, I hope they throw in a Metroid as an assist trophy, so you can toss that on somebody's face and watch it suck their life force dry.

Right now i remember WHY i never buy more than one console per generation (given that the Dreamcast only lived as long as it did)

For times like now

I almost pity multiple console owners, they'll have no money left by 2008, and even then they'll be strapped as the goods keep coming

I was always a one system man myself, but my friends and I would always swap systems.

Intellivison
NES
SNES
N64
Dreamcast
Wii

(I did buy a used GC last summer but that was just in anticaption of selling it when I would get my wii and then playing all the GC games I had missed)

I guess no Sonic in the game, thats disapointing, but I figured as much since that olympic game with sonic and mario, they stated that that was going to be the first time both characters have been in the same videogame.

I do wish they would expand the roster to some other companies like they did for snake, like to see megaman, shinobi, and some others.

What on earth makes you think that?

The Snake announcement was made during E3 itself, not in the press conference. Don't see why things would be any different now.

Pardon my ignorance, but has it been confirmed if this will have online playability yet?

One could infer that by the slightly "delayed" release date that wifi play WILL be included. The game looks DONE. Why delay it that far into the holiday if it is not to lock up the online component? This seems to be quite a sound argument to me.

done ?
did you notice that shadows of characters on stages only appeared on the newest update ... right ?
probably the gameplay is 95% done .. but there are some things that will make some nice additions to the game (extras ? adventure mode !!!?? graphic improvements ?)

-------------
so .. i will HAVE to get a wii till christmas ... oh my money xD

No confirmation either way at this point

I was hoping for some synergy with the Dojo website, myself, but the website hasn't even updated to add the release date yet, all they've added is another entry for today

Its kind of scary, because online functionality could go either way, especially given that Reggie didn't reference it with the list of upcoming online titles, although he didn't reference Mario Kart Wii in that list, either...

I find the lack of any mention of Smash Bros. at all when Reggie went on his rant about all their online games to indicate that Smash Bros. is not in fact an online game.

Sadly I'm tending to agree with Paul P. With the focus of that rant being to show that Nintendo really does have an online focus. The lack of SSBB's mention was a pretty weighted non-statement. But I guess we can hope for the best.

I agree with bm there has been no proof given for or against Sonic (or anyone else) being in the game. I'm pretty sure Snake will not be the only non-Nintendo character in the game. I think its just something they are not going to announce right now. Yet the wonder linger a little more.

To be honest due to all the speculation, if Sonic is not in the game there will probably be an annoucement saying just that.

@ Paul P and Almack:

I am going to have to disagree with you guys. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. Remember, initially it was said to be an online title, they have not denied that.

Why would they not release Brawl in October in order to maximize holiday profit? It doesn't make sense. If the game is done, which it seems to be other than the online component, the release date does not add up. They want more time to perfect the network play.

I hope you're right, but I'm not holding my breath. Are there any other big conferences coming up where an announcement like that would make a big splash? TGS? He mentioned all the EA games and said Kart would be online... you'd think he'd want to throw SSB in there too.

That's a good question - I think there may be that event in Leipzig in a few months... October I believe? I'm pretty sure there is at least one other show between now and december. Anyone know definitively?

I have faith in Nintendo. Here's why I think Reggie didn't confirm the online play - because it's not ready to confirm yet. He doesn't want to promise something that the developer can't deliver. After extensive testing, they may decide that the online gameplay is not Smash-quality and scrap it. So I think at worst the jury is still out. Give them time, I think we'll get what we all want.

Oh yeah, don't forget that the most recent smash bros. movie on the Dojo site was shown at nintendo world - which was in November. We'll either get answers at Leipzig or Nintendo World (or maybe by the end of E3 - Nintendo do hold things back for the end occasionally. Sorry for the double post!

Though i have a X-Box 360 and my copy of Halo 3 is already paid for and reserved and I do not have a Wii and i'm going away to school where i need more money but i cant get a job because i just do not have the time, Super Smash Brothers Brawl release date is the biggest news of the year, and that gives me 4 months to come up with about $330, wish me luck!!

But bm, Snake has not been showing his face in the Dojo updates. At first I thought, "Okay maybe Sakurai is keeping 3rd party characters a secret for new guys who will be starting their Smash Brothers expieirence with Brawl." But when he didn't show his face in the recent 15 Second Movie Presetation, I started to to get really doubtful about him being in it after all. And Snake is the one that "opened the gate" for other 3rd Partys. So if Snakes not in Sonic will PROBABLY not be in. Don't get me wrong I DO want him in it. Its just the chances are lower with out Snake.
