Nintendo R&D releases device that calculates human movement based on weight shifts. To test the waters, they use a fitness-training program. "Hardcore" population whines and bitches to no end, predicting Nintendo's demise, as most of them no doubt wanted.

Fast forward five to seven months. [Insert favorite 3rd party dev here] has created the Game of the Year using this very controller as a key element. Both Nintendo and said company profit immensely from this. "Hardcore" bashers eat crow. At least they would, if they weren't so damn shameless.

Hey, nice post and great coverage thanks.

I am starting up a forum for the new WiiFit game.

http://www.wiifitforum.com

It's brand new as you can imagine, but I expect to promote it alot and have hopes of it becoming the largest community for Wii Fitness.

Hey, it's a nice addition to the Wii library. Would you prefer this or some other crappy movie-oriented game. Cough cough. Well yeah this obviosuly isn't as high on my list as SSBB or SMG, but I'll probably pick it up and play it in my spare time.

Cheers ~

"you are on crack if you think any of those franchises are going to do anything for the platform. Resident Evil has the best chance, but GameCube had an exclusive on the amazingly awesome RE4. Lot of good it did... no one bought it and they ended up making most of their money on the PS2 version."

Now you're just getting delusional. 1.6 million is significantly more than "no one". The PS2 version sold 2 million. So clearly you aren't really up on the economics of it at all. In fact, if you consider the installed user base, the GC version sold much better. RE4 also came out in the Gamecube's THIRD YEAR. All of these games are coming out in the Wii's FIRST YEAR. Never mind the fact that the Wii has sold equally well in all territories, as opposed to the cube, which sold well only in the US, following extensive price-cuts.

Right now, the PS3 is the console with the attachment rate problem, not the Wii. You may not like the games that are getting attached, but that's YOUR problem, not Nintendo's.

I dunno. Wiifit seems pretty bland and basic like Wii Sports, merely there to showcase the capabilities of another new controller for the system. I do believe people are dreaming big when they believe that it will be combined with the Wiimote for a FPS, but there are some very obvious potential uses for the board. Most specifically skateboarding and snowboarding/sking games. I don't see why some believe is a horrible, sellout thing that Nintendo has released. It seems more of a "hey this a neat peripheral that you may want and we think some developers will love". But then again, I'm more of a casual gamer now.
