I'll probably pick one up when my console breaks out of warranty. It's started making weird grinding and clicking noises and isn't reading discs properly, just as my last one was before it red ringed and I had to have it sent to Microsoft (does that 3 year warranty cover Europeans too?)

I think MS should have lowered the price on the 360. Especially the Elite. I'm buying a 360 but who will buy an elite when you can get a PS3 and Blu Ray for 499. That just doesn't make sense.
I just can't believe MS/Sony have made so many bad moves with these consoles.
From the 360 hardware issues which probably stopped them from cutting the price to Sony
pricing themselves out the market and then discontinuing the 20 gb model which would have put them back in the market makes you wonder how they ever became billion dollar companies.
No wonder they are taking such huge losses on these machines.

Aug. 24. Why do you think it took them so long to drop the Elite in Europe? Anything to do with addressing the overheating issue?

very nice! To me, colour doesn't actually mean anything but I know there are people out there who will only buy an Elite because it's black!
