sounds like a bundle gamestop would push, not sony. but if they are charging 100 buckaroos for motostorm and 20g for the new sku it doesnt sound to far fetch at all.

An official console bundle that requires you to be 18+ to purchase. Interesting....

I'm sure this will make an impact on sales, but not near as much as the US deal. Keep in mind that the 60gb units will be sitting around at $500 while we wait till late next month for the 80gb to come out. So for the next 2 or 3 weeks there will only be one PS3 and it will be $500.

I agree with 4, this would be a stunning price for Brits, if not the continent.

Shame we'll get the Sorry, Your British tax on top of the EU price.

I was hoping that it would be a general price drop just like in the US, this certainly is a good deal, I highly doubt it'll be £406 in the UK though, thats too good to be true, £425 i could understand (and its still an absolute bargin, £50 worth of games and £20 controller).
Hopefully we'll see this released and the original version will be sold off cheap to get rid of stock as appears to be the case in the US now.

It's a good deal but people like choice, so a basic 60Gb machine with 1 controller and no games for... lets say £349 would probably be just as big an enticement.... i mean, you don't buy a house fully furnished now do you!

I don't think this package will be something European gamers are interested in.

In Europe, neither of the two games packaged with the PS3 were rated very highly.

In fact, Eurogamer rated Resistance: Fall of Man only a 6 out of 10.

Sony is making a mistake by now allowing the consumers to select which games they want when they purchase a game system. It is also very foolish of Sony to put Resistance: Fall of Man in with the system, because that is a Mature Rated game, and it even has public relations problems with religious organizations because of a church displayed in the game.

I think this is yet another mistake that is being made by Sony.

Here in Finland it's 699€. It happened quite fast because it's already on sale.

Spare a thought for us chumps in the UK who paid out £425 for the console and £40 a pop for these games at launch.

Granted some kind of added value or price cut was needed, but we're not even talking 4 months from launch yet. Of course it stings to be an early adopter, but I'm surprised to see Sony rubbing quite so much salt into the wound.

I think Sony must realize that there is a thing called exchange rate, 499$=361€
resistance and cane be bought new at now more than 54€ each (or used at 30€) and a sixaxis for 50€ that makes a total of:
361+108+50=519€ to the end user, it can be reduced to 499€ easily..
Good move Sony, hire some new marketing directors or send them to some coaching as they desperately need it!
