New-gen Turok releases Feb 5, 2008

Propaganda Games has announced that Turok will debut on February 5, 2008. The announcement was made during Disney Interactive's press conference by Josh Holmes of Propaganda Games. Turok is Propaganda's attempt to reinvigorate the ailing franchise. The game aims to do this by providing players with a variety of gameplay choices and some particularly nasty enemies. Given the absolute glut of first person shooters (and AAA titles in general) being released this holiday season, the decision to release the game in 2008 is probably a wise one.

I must say that I haven't played any of the Turok series after 1, but I must say that I am compelled to pick it back up.
Just like with the Resident Evil series. I stopped playing RE after 2 because it seemed to be the same old stuff with different cities, etc. But from what I've seen of the new RE5 they are going to re-energize the series and, for me at least, a reason to pick it back up.

Well I stopped playing at 2. If RE4 was different then my bad. I never really heard anyone talk about it like I have 5, which made me look into it. How exactly is it different from the first 3 (and many other non numerical titles like RE:Code Veronica, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, etc)?

New-gen sounds even worse than "next-gen" imo. Why does there always have to be a buzzword associated with a headline for a game? the current gen is assumed for any new releases.. I mean, It's unlikely that Turok is coming out for the Gamecube, PS2, or original XBox, isn't it?

You're misinterpreting the title, it's not a Turok of "New Gen" consoles, its a New gen Turok for consoles, get it?

It's going to be odd to see a Turok game not be on a Nintendo system after all 4 came out on n64.

This might be a fun game I think its extremely wise to wait and ship it out later to have more time to develop and be out when nothing else is usually out (early Feb).
Does this mean Turok coming to Virtual Console isn't that farfetched now or is that still unlikely?
