Sega announces Vintage Game Collection for Xbox Live Arcade

- Streets of Rage 2 -- Wander the angry streets and defend yourself from generic thugs using whatever means necessary. Pleasingly, the means usually comes in the form of a large pipe.
- Ecco the Dolphin -- Explore the oceans and rescue your fishy friends in this completely enchanting and non-sinister game. Oh, and remember to go up for air occasionally... or you'll die an agonizing death.
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2 -- The world's fastest and most relevant hedgehog heads off on one of his best adventures with Tails "Miles" Prower in tow. We still giggle about the "miles per hour" bit.

BOOOOOOOO. The reason I love My XBLA so much is because of the new unique games, or old games with new update graphics. This is not the Wii Sega. Stop giving us Roms of old games and making us pay for them.

Definitely a ripoff, considering what you got in that PS2 compilation.
Sadly, my roommate purchased Golden Ax today. We beat it in about 15 minutes, possibly 10. And we received most of the achievements. That's 400 points?
By and large these "classic" games are terrible. They have not held up. There are exceptions, Sonic 2 is almost definitely one, but rather than a rehashed, shoddy 2D action game how about making a new one? Bring it up to date. I'd kill for it.

Agreed. As someone who dropped $8 on Ecco for VC, I'm beginning to think that nostalgia is really best left in the past.

Well it may be a ripoff unless they offer a package deal, but it's still cheaper than the Wii. Plus unlike the Wii, there will be some achievements and hopefully some online play.

I know many people are saying it's a ripoff, but Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is the best videogame ever made. And I can now play it on my 360.

Okay, never played streets of rage but the large pipe part sounds good, ecco is cool but random as anything and sonic is awesome.

Minor nitpick: It's Miles "Tails" Prower, not Tails "Miles" Prower. Tails is the nickname ...
And in all the years I've had and played the game, I never realized that pun was there. I guess I should say names aloud more often ...

Wow you guys really never noticed the MPH joke? I was groaning at that when I was 12.
Also I feel like Ninty's bitch comparing the prices here. Will SoR also have online multiplayer?
And if you never played SoR2 or Ecco, this 3 pack is literally the best 3 sega games ever made on Genesis, they all have unforgettable music, insane challenges, and just addiction.
When SoR2 came out it MOVED UNITS.

Jeez, I'm glad to see that there are others who didn't spot the Miles Prower jokes - I figured they changed his name to miles in the uk, like they did with peach/daisy (later explained away as a different princess.
And i thought Prower was just supposed to sound like prowess!
