We know that with all the E3 craziness, we've been positively lax in out duties of voraciously devouring every nugget of info from the official site for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. For that, we are sorry. We've prepared a sampling of information to try to get you caught up.
Your amous bouche is the return of "the bumper" back to smashing bros after being left out of Melee. The site also has images of the Animal Crossing-themed level, called "Smashville." A bad name, to be sure, but not as bad as our own Animal Crossing town of "Milli Villagii," so we guess we're not too mad. You're also not going to wanna miss "The Bridge of Eldin" from Twilight Princess.
Also, expect to see SimCity's Dr. Wright (who was, of course, based on game designer Warren Spector) as an Assist Trophy, which you can read a little more about here. He's planning a commercial district ... and your untimely death.

The Animal Crossing stage seems pretty cool. I wonder what other date/time-based elements it will have, if any. Maybe use the Weather Channel to alter the stage's weather? Maybe use the date to put seasons in this stage too, like the Yoshi's Island stage?
Also, bumpers! Man, my friends and I used to set bumpers, motion mines and Bob-ombs as the only items that would appear and at a high rate. Hilarity ensued.

sorry for the comment abuse, but i just noticed this about the stage (and its easy to miss). if you look at the pictures of the animal crossing stage you can see that the floating island hovers back and forth. so it seems like it isn't just another completely normal flat stage...

Smashville seals the deal for me. Now if only Tom Nook could fight with golden axe in hand...

I had the same thought. I checked Samurai Goro's assist trophy page and sure enough, the F-Zero icon is there next to his name. I think it's a given that Capt. Falcon will be returning as a playable character, so maybe this does mean there will also be a playable Animal Crossing character. Crazy.
I guess we'll see in the coming weeks. There are still plenty of weekdays between now and Dec. 3rd for things like that to be revealed.

At smashbros.com, Tom Nook can also be seen in one of the screenshots of Smashville.

if you can read the name of the town in Japanese, it's a horrible pun :p I guess they couldn't match it in english

It's すま村, or "suma-mura". The Japanese name of Super Smash Bros is "Dairantou Sumasshu Burazaasu", so the shortened name (like our SSB) is "suma bura", which is made up of the first two syllables from "Sumasshu" (Smash) and "Burazaasu" (Brothers).
The pun here for the name of this stage is "suma-mura", which means "suma village/town". They changed "bu" to "mu" to basically call the level "Sma Village". The English name of "Smashville" is completely devoid of this pun, though. :P

Quick edit: The last part of the name of the game in Japanese is "Burazaazu", not "Burazaasu". Whoops. :P

Well, we hadn't covered it yet, so I wanted to make sure to include it for people who don't check the site.

That's right Bridge of Eldin was last Friday's. DK back as a playable character, the release date, and 15 second video is the missing update.

Dang, I kinda wish we were beating each other around the museum or like, kicking apples off tree's and stuff to fight with... that'd be tight.

That the bumper can float now, flipper-like, is excellent.

And of all the updates, you neglected to mention the short clip on the website? (More in-game previews, and other camera foolery... Most notably, Giga-browser in action, pikachu's smash in action...)
