@7 & 8

Well, you shouldn't be talking like that on a website called Xbox360Fanboy. Besides that obvious fact, Killzone was a piece of shit, and Killzone 2 wont be any better. Gears of War and the Halo series are some of the best First Person Shooters out there, and Microsoft is just giving fans some more backstory in an interesting game series.

P.S. The PS3 was dead the second it launched. Nobody really gives a shit about it besides Sony Fanboys who wasted 600 bucks on it. Nintendo is destroying Microsoft and Sony, but Microsoft is still whupping Sony.

Yes, because the first Killzone was an absolutely amazing game and warrants all the hype. /sarcasm

As much as I hate to feed the trolls, I get tired of hearing about Killzone 2 as the be-all and end-all, when the game has no pedigree to warrant it.

Awesome, can't wait to see how this unfolds, hopefully this Staten guy is a good writer, I've loved Nylund's works so far

#9 "nead?" Really? You're sure about that right? Alright, well let's check the answers. Oh, and it's "need." I'm sorry the answer is "need." Now look into the camera and say, "I'm not smarter than a 5th grader." (even with hooked on phonics)

I'm not excited about the author NOT being Eric Nylund. Although i admittedly don't know anything about this guy and i guess I'll give him a chance. But i did that with "The Flood" novel and regretted it.

I just bought the other 4 books last week and i'll be reading them in anticipation for halo 3 so i can learn more about the halo universe and understand the whole plot behind games.

@12 - ditto. The Nylund stuff is excellent - I read Ghost of Onyx on a whim and was blown away. The scale, the character insight, the battle sequences - top notch.

Is Stateh the Flood author?

@14, No it's some other guy. I would suggest skipping The Flood entirely since you get the story from the game and it's painful to read at times.

Just read the three Nylund books and you'll love the Halo universe

@pandlcg
There's so much revealed in G.o.O, especially regarding the Forerunners' intentions, it seems a shame that the rest of the Halo community might miss out on it. Makes me wonder if they'll be some sort of 'recap' at the beginning of Halo 3. Probably not...

@13. I also just picked up the books, I just started with The Fall of Reach. It is very interesting how it reveals allot about the SPARTAN II Project. SPOILER(maybe): I also noticed in the FoR Keyes mentions the incident on harvest, and the Dr. replies with there is no more Harvest.

"Joseph Staten
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joseph Staten is an American writer and the director of cinematics for Bungie Studios. He is widely known for the storyline of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2.

Other games include Myth and Oni. He works closely with members CJ Cowan (a cinematic designer) and Martin O'Donnell. Additionally, he lends his voice to Grunts in all the Halo series games along with Brian Posehn.

He has written the upcoming Halo novel, Halo: Contact Harvest, due out this fall."

Joseph Staten is the guy in charge of almost all of the story of the Halo games. He has all the background information. Contact Harvest will probably be the best one yet.

Agree with all those on "The Flood". Currently halfway thru Ghosts of Onyx and do not understand why Nylund didn't do the "Flood". It was painful and monotonous reading. Outside of that can't wait for "Contact Harvest".
My question is how important are the graphic novels. Do I need them for the complete picture? I am having a hard time finding them retail and will probably end up ordering them online only if they are integral to the plot.
