Heh. They said "megaton" in a post about a Capcom game.

Seriously, though, this game looks pretty cool (even if the name is needlessly long; Why not just "Zack & Wiki," or just "Quest for Barbaros' Treasure?") and is something I'm looking forward to.

I agree. How dare they talk about a video game on a video game blog. It's absurd.

Holy crap, I didn't notice that Joystiq left the blogging network and became a news site!

Oh wait, they didn't.

It's only going to be $40, so I really hope it gets good reviews. If so, I resolve to buy this game as soon as possible once it's released.

If it was to get a good review from one place it would definetly be from IGN. They freaking have a buy this game campaign!

It would be the ultimate contradiction if they gave Zack & Wiki a terrible review, wouldn't it?

"BUY THIS GAME! BUY THIS GAME!
(oh, btw, it sux)"

I'm a sucker for cell-shaded style games, so I'll almost certainly buy this. It's been reassuring to hear every single review of it being positive, too.
Frankly, the way you play the game SOUNDS kind of dull...but evidently everyone who gets their hands on it comes away thinking otherwise.

Any point-and-click adventure SOUNDS dull from a gameplay perspective. All it takes is a great story, great puzzles and an x-factor to make a good point-and-click adventure. All of which Zack & Wiki appear to have. I'm glad to hear it has a somewhat lower price-point too.

No campaign to buy the game, but Joystiq won't pass up the opportunity to warn readers to ignore the game due to graphics. I'm confused. On the one hand, the preview reads like an endorsement. On the other hand, it's nearly scathing.

id say it would be overlooked because its called "zack and wiki" when i first read it i thought it was some stupid teenie bopper disney show to game thing, which would be horrible in numerous ways.

I would hardly call what Joystiq wrote scathing. The point that you missed is that they expect people will avoid it due to the art style dismissing it as too kiddie. They disagree but are right to expect jaded gamers will write it off.

Yeah, they're going to say that this game is going to be another Psychonauts, Okami, Eternal Darkness, or Viva Pinata

great, unique titles with unfortunate product placement and abysmal sales, because of a few X-factors (in this games case, the cartoony graphics will turn off the "mainstream hardcore" and the complexity will turn off the crowd that's attracted by the cartoony look)

Although it will probably pwn the "Point-and-click Adventure" fanbase
