Right now, that $500 price tag isn't looking so bad... just need a Final Fantasy VII remake and I'm sold.

Anyone remember making their own tracks in Excitebike? I barely played the actual "game" for all the time I spent building tracks.

That's what this reminds me of, except x1,000,000.

Is it supposed to look like Garry's Mod?

No... its not supposed to look anything like a Half Life 2 modification... Never used the program myself, but I'd imagine a cute little customizable 2D platformer to look a tad different than a first person shooter.

That would make the game so much better than it already is.

what champloo has to say after this post is bullshit. Mgs4 wont come to 360 and haze wont look better on 360. Read dwon to see what i have to say about his post.

LittleBigPlanet seems like LocoRoco all over again... A good game, good hype, but won't sell like people hope.

lp47 it couldn't be more obvious how scared shitless you are that MGS4 may be coming to the 360.

But thats besides the point.

This game is basically a testment to the hypocrisy of sony fanboys. If this game was on the Wii you'd be screaming and bitching that the Wii is a "kiddie" system. That same unoriginal excuse you've vomited out of your mouths for years now when it comes to Nintendo consoles.

Yet because its on the ps3 and the graphics are "ZOMG UBER FANTASTIC!" LittleBigPlanet is suddenly going to be THE GAME for the ps3. In addition after all the hating you've spewed towards causal gamers suddenly you expect them to buy this game? As if they're completely idiotic and don't know that sony hates causal gamers?

Theres no doubt that this game will be awesome. And theres no doubt that I want to play it. However its not on the Wii and its not on the 360. And while I have the money to buy a ps3 I choose not to because its a waste IMO.

I'll wait for Spore instead which of course will prove to be a 1000x more fun.

You really couldn't be more off base on most of your comments. The complaint against Nintendo isn't based on any single game, it's based on a line-up that is always dominated by the so-called "kiddie" games.

Game looks great. Almost good enough to justify the PS3's clearance price point. Add that in with Ratchet and Clank, and Killzone 2, and it seems I may end up getting a PS3... just a while after a 360...

this game is the reason i bought a ps3. i was going to wait, but with the price-drop, and the whole "60gb may sell out" aspect, I just took the plunge this last weekend. note that i likely would have bought it eventually without LBP, but it is what made me want the ps3 sooner rather than later.

now i am an old-skool gamer, and like all kinds of games, but what gets me is that my wife, a more limited gamer, and the wifes (who are not gamers at all) of my friends agree this game is the reason to own a ps3. i think it will sell systems, if only because it will have the broader appeal beyond the hardcore gamer of the household.

i agree the community is what is going to be key. and from the looks of the GDC video, they know that. you will be able to search, sort by rating, send messages to people, all ways to develop a strong community.

i know that i have never gotten much into level editors myself, because it is so tedious and boring. but the idea of being able to play the level as you make it, and collaborate with 3 other people at the same time, makes me think i could get into this...

well i didnt say anything new, but i just wanted to stand up and say, LBP sold at least one ps3!
