A lot of the alternative addictions Tim mentioned as examples supply that euphoria as well. You become addicted to the endorphins released upon doing something good in a game. It isn't a chemical addiction, but it is something you physically interact with that is manipulating your brain, even if in such a vague indirect way.

Makes me long for the days of public floggings. I don't care what the cause was or what they were addicted to. This is inexcusable. There is no bigger betrayal than to abuse a child.

If it wasn't video games, it would have been something else. People who have addictive personalities will latch onto anything. It was incredibly selfish and stupid of them to have children in the first place. It seems like if the children weren't there, we would have been reading about a story where a married couple were found dead in their home in front of their computer.

I just bought an 42" LCD.

I have to study for my engineering licensing exam that I am takin in October.

I have been studying every weekend since the middle of June. Am I going to stop studying because I got a new TV and an xbox 360? No, because I am not a f*cking worthless loser.

It's not video games, it's the person.

I have zero tolerance for people who abuse or neglect children, regardless of the reason.
