Ok, I have a question about dvd and hd dvd.

Is there a specific company that is actually running or "owns" the dvd/hd dvd format?
And makes the calls as to what is on this media platform of entertainment?

If so, this company needs to expend some cash to get some hd dvd exclusives for thier format before blue ray takes it away.

A bunch of new HD-DVDs are coming, just wait.

@ccc: HD-DVD isn't owned by one company, the group includes Toshiba, Microsoft and many of other companies.

There are a bunch of exclusives for HD-DVD, in fact, there are more titles worldwide for HD-DVD than BluRay. Some of the exclusive titles (out now) on HD-DVD include V for Vendetta, The Matrix Trilogy, Children of Men, The Big Lebowski, Dawn of the Dead, Shawn of the Dead, Half Baked and a bunch of others. '300' comes out later this month with exclusive interactive content only on the HD-DVD version. Blade Runner comes out later this year.

If you're thinking about getting the add-on drive, its a great buy at $200 w/ King Kong and a media remote. I'm totally satisfied with it.

And you know why I as an European haven't bought the HDDVD-add-on yet.... cause no nice deal has been thrown our way yet... just the Add On for 200$+.
So I'll wait and wait and hopefully they will bundle it up with the remote and Bladerunner at the end of the year.
