How bout more clarification about the HDMI? Why does this unit have a 20GB HDD and hdmi? Its 1/2 an elite, but more than a premium? Whats the deal?!

I think ALL NEW production 360's have HDMI. Thats the thing. All of the premiums's made henseforth will have HDMI. Thats my understanding though.

The Halo 3 Xbox 360 includes a 20GB HDD and a HDMI input without the HDMI cable. So, just for THIS Halo 3 360 it'll be kind of a hybrid between the Premium and Elite. No announcements have been made about HDMI inclusion in Core or Premium yet.

And I'm still saying it's sexy!

No not all premiums have HDMI, I don't know why they didn't include the bigger HDD.

On one of his E3 videos, CheapyD from CAG commented that the Halo3 360 ran noticeably quieter. Not as quiet as a PS3 but much quieter than current 360s.

65nm chipset perhaps?

I know that I'm in the minority, but I think this is the best looking 360 yet and NOT because it's Halo 3 branded but because I really love the green and gold combination.

For some reason I really like the design and color of the console. Right now I'm just interested in an actual price for this package.

If they had announced this with 120 gigs and HDMI cable included this would eat Elite sales or have people wait for this to be released instead of buying an Elite today.

On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it to a bigger HDD right before launch, seeing that Sony is changing their HD space from 60 to 80.

This is just another sku to offer the public while not eating up sales of other consoles.

Microsoft may offer a bunch of different console sku's but this gives the public choices.

I sooo hope this will have the 65nm chipset in it. If so I'd pre-order it immediately. Please Microsoft come through on this one.

I would say it comes with the wired, as they want people to pay extra to buy the wireless one, and if you have a picture of the wired one, they most likely have manufactured many more of them, unless it is an early prototype.

I wish I could buy it, but I have a premium and my tv is only 1080i so the HDMI is really useless. Plus I still want a PS3.

I must admit this is nice looking XBox 360. I already have 2 of them in my house and I would gladly add the Halo 3 edition to my collection.

However, I am concerned about the rings of death. I've had to replace one of my XBox 360's twice already. If I had to send this one in to MS and it needed to be replaced entirely, would they send me another Halo 3 box???

You know what this thing says to me (the system)? "We know we got some overheating issues and we ain;t sayin' when those dandy 65nm chips are coming out. But until then... GO GO GO! BUY BUY BUY! IT'T HALO! IT'S HALO! BUY BUY NOW!!!!! Spend that money on more crap until we release what you people really want!"

@16 The current wireless headset right now is awesome. I have 2, one for each console and both of my brothers each have one. None of us have had any problems with them.

What is your beef with it?

@19

I bought a wireless headset, and I got rid of it because I didn't think that it felt right when I had it on. Also, I'm not a big talker, so the beep that goes off every couple of minutes kind of bugs me. That and when I do want to talk, I just say a sentence or so, so it's kind of annoying to mute it by having to reach up and hit my ear, as opposed to just sliding my thumb over to flip the wiired one off.

That's just my two cents though...

Everyone I encounter on live with a wireless headset always has wierd sounds comming from it. I always have to tell them to fix it, because apparrently, they cant tell when its putting out these crazy sounds. If they dont fix it, I kick them if I can, If I cant do that I mute them. Plus when I was thinking about getting one, I asked around 30 gamers on live what they thought about the wireless Headset they were using and about 98 % of them either said they hated it or it sucked.

love the controller, but the console is mad ugly.
i hope i can get one of those controllers, cause it's a good alternative to the white, "black", and the new powder blue and pink ones.

i'm on my second one, i got MS to replace it once. same problems.

- static/crackling in my earpiece
- static/crackling in everyone else's earpiece coming from my mike
- frequent disconnects or failure to pair with console
- would it kill them to include a "L" sized earloop? i apparently have big ears. the unit is uncomfortable on top of it's lousy quality

Who are they kidding?? I felt bad for Peter Moore at E3. Nobody even clapped when he showed it. This looks like a giant turd. Maybe it's symbolic.

This is the ugliest console ever made...the graphics all over the side and front, whether related to Halo or not..just looks incredibly stupid and cheap....and then the gross puke green color scheme....in fact i think i just puked a little in my mouth right now looking at it...although i could live with the color if the graphics weren't all over the sides and front....it reminds me of one of those ugly cars from fast and furious or something...

@10 (Stifler) I'm with you. I really like the look of this Xbox, but price is the most important factor for me right now. I was just about to buy a 360 Premium when they announced the Halo 3 model. I wouldn't mind holding out for this one, but I need to know a price (and a release date wouldn't hurt, either).

Also, I understand that a lot of people feel a copy of Halo 3 should be included. I would guess this Xbox will be coming out before the game, possibly at the same time as the wireless headset and Halo controllers. Don't forget there will be three different Halo 3 packages, and many who would buy this Xbox just because it is Halo will also buy the Legendary ($130) edition of the game. Packing just the game with this Xbox would cut off profits, and packing in the Legendary edition would make the price WAY too high for those like me who are interested because they don't already have an Xbox.

Sorry for the long winded post, but I felt like I needed to get those issues out there. Feel free to argue/answer.

@Dustin Burg
not to get technical, but it is an HDMI output.

and this thing is hideous. The controller is kind of cool, but an army green console? no thanks. my elite goes with my 1080p LCD much better.

I call shopped on the basis of:
1. the reflection on the cd tray has a straight reflection but a contoured shape.
2. the tray open button looks disfigured.

If this the way it'll be released it great but someone should have proofed this pic.

I like it. Not because it's Halo, but I like the colors. I'd buy that controller if they sold it seperatly.
