I agree the basic point of the bitching going on here, but in a very real way much of the Makai series could only be done in an older generation in a theoretical sense. Some of the crazier stage scenarios in Disgaea 2 (or even Phantom Brave) would have made a PS1 or N64 die a horrible death, even if the individual art assets are well within their limits.

The bottom line is that most of us play these games for their gameplay systems, and I suspect that'll continue regardless of what platform the new game comes out on.

Now, excuse me while I hope to see new stages that couldn't be done on the PS2, even if the individual art assets aren't OMG-SUPER-HD (something ridiculous like a 1000 monster battlefield to tackle during the endgame.)

Why the low-quality sprites? Graphics don't matter, espeically in a game that is pure awesome like Disgaea, but I'm surprised they aren't using higher-quality stuff. Odin Sphere for the PS2 looks way better. This looks like they're reusing sprites from the first two.

Again, not a big deal- just puzzling.

Argh! This hurts... While the promise of MG4 and FFXIII on the PS3 had me considering buying one at some unspecified point in the future, Disgaea 3 pretty much guarentees that I will have one by the time it is released here unless money ends up uncharacteristically tight. I understand the rationale of supporting the PS3, certainly, but I had hoped somewhere in the back of my mind that they would end up on the Wii or 360 (yes, I am generally pro-Wii60 :P)... I can live with passing on some of the other PS3 exclusives indefinitely, but Nippon Ichi is just too hard to turn down. Hopefully, by the time it is released here, the PS3 will have dropped in price again.

I don't really care which system it comes out on. If it comes out on PS2, I have one. If it comes out on PS3, I'll get one. Either way, I must have this game.
