Heavenly Sword demo gets a date, no tongue

It shouldn't be a surprise to any of us that the demo for Heavenly Sword is on its way. Heck, we already said that it was making its debut sometime in July. We've now got confirmation that the demo is, in fact, complete. Part of the Ninja Theory team came out on their official forums and said "it's in the bag ... so now it's a case of Sony deciding when they feel is the best time to release it to PlayStation Network." By that, we couldn't help but squeal like a schoolgirl with a crush. Could they mean this Thursday's update?

Not likely. Seems the demo itself is actually slated for next Thursday. You know, the 26th. We don't mind waiting an extra week, since most of the PS3 Fanboy staff is still in a hot competition to keep the highest score amongst one another in Super Stardust HD. As far as the game itself, Heavenly Sword is complete and going through the bug-fixing stage. If that's true, they should release it early. We're tired of waiting for this fantastic looking "launch title", honestly.

I'll be heading to the San Diego Comic Con next week and just found out that Sony will have a huge booth there. Perhaps I'll see the demo there...

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS DEMO!!! The game would be nice too..

It's nice to see that the game is essentially done and that they've got all this time to debug it. It seems like a lot of games are "finished" the night before they get pressed.

im addicted to 1up'n all of my friends scores on SuperStardust as well!

I thought that date was for the EU PSN. I was under the impression that the US will be getting the demo 7/19.

Any clarification on this?

sony will have a both there for resident evil 3(movie). not sure about for other stuff.

this and final fantasy are my two most wanted games at the moment. im hoping white knight will be as cool as it looks. ive been burned a lot recently though. i got blue dragon right before i sold my (5th and final) 360, and it was a major disappointment.

My original story in PS3 Attitude says the demo is coming to Europe. I don't have any up-to-date info on other regions yet - sorry!

Really you didn't like Blue Dragon. I played it for about an hour at my friends house and I loved it. Looks sharp and has a nice story.

One of the editors from PS Fanboy (Which shall remain nameless, to prevent putting him on the spot) was nice enough give me his PSN ID and he's the only one on my friend's list (I have 4 people on there) that has Super Stardust (SSHD). I've been trying to beat his score for awhile now and it is impossible! It might be because I suck or he's just really good but I've never been able to get even close to his score. I don't think that going to change anytime soon.

this is great news. I can't wait on this one. Now my PS3 has purpose. lol!

So, just out of curiosity, what scores do you guys have? The highest I've been able to get is 34 million, but I can't seem to get to the last level, the first time around.

When this was shown at last year's E3, it got alot of people excited, myself included. I was really looking forward to this game, especially since it was a "launch title". So what the hell happened? I'm glad the developers took the time needed to make sure the game is the best it can be, but it's going to be about a year late. Not quite a "launch title". I have a feeling that we will see this same type of delay with at least one of the games from this years E3 that is supposed to be out by years end.
