Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops expansion announced
If you're the sort who enjoys snapping unsuspecting necks during the train commute to work, you'd be pleased to learn that the PSP's Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops is due for an expansion -- it should distract your future victims long enough to let you indulge in your disgusting and bizarre habit of killing complete strangers. Announced during the PlayStation Premier event in Tokyo, IGN reports that Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops + will primarily revolve around online play with new characters (including old wrinkly Snake) and stages. The only addition to the single-player aspect comes in the form of a mode called "Infinity Mission."Japan will receive the expansion on September 20th at a price of ¥2,400 yen, along with a ¥4,300 bundle featuring Portable Ops. Keep an eye out for it (and commuting serial killers).

TheWarden @ Jul 17th 2007 11:07AM
Boo to harrison.
MGS:PO is a very good game, only slightly hampered by control issues.
Look, people complained about AC!D, so they gave us a real MG on PSP with new features and play, and you still complain? What more do you want?

I didn't think Portable Ops was bad at all. It is a welcome addition to the franchise.

I definitely agree. It was a very good MGS game and an exceptional PSP game.

My problem with Portable Ops was its darn camera. I tried all the control schemes and couldn't find a good setting to control Snake and the camera at the sametime. It just wasn't working for me. The PSP lacks a right analog nub which would've made things much easier. The least Konami could've done is included an overhead camera view like in the MGS games. That way I wouldn't need to worry about the camera. Also, MGA1 was slow, dull, and had no voice acting. :S

Portable Ops was the first game I thoroughly enjoyed on the PSP. The only downfall, as TheWarden has stated were the control issues. Especially since the nub on my PSP is broken and my camera angle jerks horrendously.
Great game in all though, glad to see that the MGS series is able to stay alive and still with such great quality.

Rick Diculous @ Jul 17th 2007 12:27PM
They should release Portable Ops on the PS2 like Rstart did w/ the GTA psp games.
kalamari @ Jul 17th 2007 6:17PM
