Three extra colors for new PSP

No word on if these colorful models will be released outside of Japan. The new model PSP is due out in September, whereby the old model will have to seek refuge as it's phased out.

damn those look nice.
Anam @ Jul 17th 2007 3:35PM
I'm liking the blue one. Though green would be my choice. We need more video game items offered in green.
Konny @ Jul 17th 2007 3:59PM
You mean like the Halo Edition 360 that looks like ass.
StrangeBum @ Jul 17th 2007 4:08PM
I completely agree. Green is an oft overlooked color, and I think that a nice green color would look great on any gaming system. I'm really digging the Halo 3 Xbox 360 color.
JodyAnthony @ Jul 17th 2007 4:18PM
I really do not like halo at all, but am considering the halo-themed 360 just because it looks sweet.
when wii was first announced (as revolution) they showed all the different colors. I absolutely adored the green one and wish I could get one in that color right now.
Zertoss @ Jul 17th 2007 3:36PM
Makes me think of Easter. Maybe they should come with chocolate.
dpad @ Jul 17th 2007 3:53PM
All I want for Easter is my PSP.
JodyAnthony @ Jul 17th 2007 3:48PM
that lavender one is nice
dum dum @ Jul 17th 2007 3:51PM
Sony's desperate effort to gain market share in Japan.
Anam @ Jul 17th 2007 3:52PM
See? Joystiq commentors will bicker all day and then see some colored PSP-2000s lined up and say "Ahh, isn't that special?"
/holds hands with Curmeo and Zertoss
Jared @ Jul 17th 2007 3:58PM
Wake me up when Fire Truck Red available....
gullum @ Jul 17th 2007 3:59PM
Why are people calling it PSP-2000? Did you guys call the PS2 the SCPH-3001 or whatever the hell the model number was?
Its called the PSP. Always was and always will be.
Anam @ Jul 17th 2007 4:12PM
Why do we call it the DS Phat?
Because it's funny and the company didn't give us a better way to identify it.
Same as the PSP-2000.
Vidikron @ Jul 17th 2007 4:19PM
Joystiq's fault. In their earlier article they claimed that PSP-2000 was the name when, in fact, it was only the model number. But it's too late now, the name has stuck among Joystiq readers.
ill trooper @ Jul 17th 2007 3:59PM
arrrrrgh... Those are colors they use for women's leg razors!
What is up with these companies? This is like the DS' new colors - WIMPY. Get some brighter, non-metallic colors in there! Some olive green, maybe an orange one, that ill porsche light blue... SOMETHING interesting.
Xizer @ Jul 17th 2007 4:13PM
All of those colors are disgusting. Baby Shit Green PSP or Vomit Orange PSP? No thanks.
ill trooper @ Jul 17th 2007 4:24PM
Xizor - I didn't type 'baby shit green' or 'vomit orange...'
YOU did.
josh @ Jul 17th 2007 4:13PM
That silver one is tempting. I would probably get black though so I could use the extended battery for the old one - if you get the extended battery that's available for the old PSP (or even a standard 1800ma for the old one vs the new oen which ships with 1200ma i believe), it would be even more extended on this, right? Since it is more energy efficient?
Lewis @ Jul 17th 2007 4:14PM
"Notice how, unlike the Nintendo DS models, none of these colors are very bright or prominent."
I was thinking the same thing. Wow.
djsyndrome @ Jul 17th 2007 4:14PM
This is *old* news. The three 'pastel' colors were announced in Europe last week.

Ninjakamster @ Jul 17th 2007 4:19PM
Yeah Josh, thats right, you can use the older batteries on this PSP and since you get 4-6 hours of battery life on this one with the standard 1200 mah battery and the same with 1800 mah battery on the older PSP, use the 1800 or 2200 mah official batteries on this for excellent battery life.
Hirsbrunner @ Jul 17th 2007 4:20PM
"Notice how... none of these colors are very bright or prominent."
Just like Sony's execs. ^__^
Defenestrator2.0 @ Jul 19th 2007 9:27PM

ZombieDog @ Jul 17th 2007 4:21PM
WTF? No Brown?!
deaftly @ Jul 17th 2007 4:23PM
i still like the black the best :\
Drew @ Jul 17th 2007 4:58PM
mmmm.... taste the rainbow...
pmasterfunk @ Jul 17th 2007 5:12PM
i want to put my greasy fingerprints all over these amazing new psps
sheppy @ Jul 17th 2007 6:20PM
The blue is very tempting.
I do like that these are more subdued colors. Makes a lasting impression. Gah, Silver bundle pack in the US or import a BLOOOOOOOO one....
sheppy @ Jul 17th 2007 6:22PM
These definately beat some of the godawful colors both Nintendo and Sony has released their latest handhelds as in the past...
BPM @ Jul 17th 2007 6:28PM
Felicia Blue... Makes me think of the catgirl from Darkstalkers (it has her name in it, and is blue like her).
I do love the color blue, and I MAY consider that PSP... But I much prefer darker shades (like my Enamel Navy DS Lite).
Thomas @ Jul 17th 2007 7:37PM
I like the colors, but I wish they had some more non pastel colors.
