New Fallout 3 screens show violent tendencies

Gears of War also had some gruesome cranial explosions, but from what we saw at E3, Fallout 3 will up the ante in comical violence. The game isn't due out until Fall 2008.

I'm sorry, that ESRB logo is too pixelated. I am suing you.
farcloud @ Jul 18th 2007 3:39AM
They need a new rating - ULTRA Headshot Mature.
serotoninzero @ Jul 18th 2007 4:00AM
Damn. Fallout 3 looks exciting. I'm scared though.
BananaBoat @ Jul 18th 2007 4:05AM
If this makes it to market, it proves that the whole Manhunt 2 controversy was just political theatre. Here's to hoping that it makes it
zwarrior @ Jul 18th 2007 4:45AM
It will be AO, banned from Europe and Bethesda will have to recall it
ShortBus @ Jul 18th 2007 4:50AM
Unfortunate super MUTANT, no zombies in the fallout universe if my memory serves me correctly.
Daniel @ Jul 18th 2007 5:05AM
I'm glad that the level of violence will be on par with the first two games in this series. This once again shows Bethesda's dedication to the licence and hopefully help quell the fears of hard-core fans.
Kinsman @ Jul 18th 2007 7:41AM
On the other hand, gruesome deaths weren't all *that* common in Fallout - they only became so if you chose the "Bloody Mess" perk when you were creating their character. I remember one interview with a Bethesda developer, though, where they claimed that Fallout was all about that "Bloody Mess".
Bethesda seems to be trying to remain faithful to the Fallout license, but it's skewed by their opinions; they seem to like the flashy, surface aspects of the game and play them up, at the expense of the more sober, tragic, or intellectual aspects.
RKN2K @ Jul 18th 2007 9:16AM
What kinsman said. Ultra-violence != dedication.
chenry @ Jul 18th 2007 6:52AM
Glorious! It's going to be a long wait to Fall '08.
Jake @ Jul 18th 2007 8:19AM
Hell, it is a long wait until Fall 07'. I can't even think about Fall 08'. And for PS3 owners, this could be Fall 09'. Nice to see the boys at Bethesda still got love for the 360, though.
Robert @ Jul 18th 2007 8:54AM
The Elder Scrolls: Fallout. That actually could be really, really good.
Evan @ Jul 18th 2007 8:55AM
Kids will see that screenshot and say "OMG! Did you see that headshot? That's cool!"
Vince @ Jul 18th 2007 8:57AM
so was the Vault 0 experiment to only provide extra-large sized jumpsuits?
Alex K @ Jul 18th 2007 10:01AM
of course it looks like armond christophe, it's probably modelled after the same guy working for bethesda!
AlexK @ Jul 18th 2007 10:47AM
Zombies did exist in Fallout 1 & 2, while they where technically mutants, everyone called them zombies (they did as well).
ZippyDSMlee @ Jul 18th 2007 12:24PM
Yes there were zombies, super zombies sounds dumb tho....,the zombies in FO 1 and 2 where where heavily mutated zombie looking humanoids, some where human more or less some where typical zombies *L*
Pimliconite @ Jul 18th 2007 5:20PM
There were no zombies, idiots. There were ghouls, who were just humans mutated by radiation. Then there were super mutants, who were intentionally exposed to a biological weapon.
"Super zombies", christ, it's like mistaking Mario for a carpenter.
AFK @ Jul 19th 2007 2:30AM
Mutants!! Zombies are Dead Rising
colin @ Jul 19th 2007 3:00AM
