MGS4 on Xbox 360 'a few months' after PS3, says OXM Rumor Mole

Yes, they said MGS4 was "exclusive to PS3". But they also said it about UT3 and Haze. Guess what? Both of those are coming to other platforms in time, so why not MGS4?

Sony fanboys are going to have to accept this. The MGS series has always gone to other platforms!

MorganFell... You're stretching for an arguement here rofl. You just picked about every add-on for the 360 to up the price. I personally bought the $399 system, got a 50 dollar gift card free with it, so I bought a play and charge kit and live with that and that was it. ($599-$399... $200 for games, something the PS3 is lacking.) You don't need an HDDVD drive, nor a 120gb hd, or a wireless adapter. Hell, you don't even need a play and charge kit (you can just buy rechargeable batteries...) or even live. Never mind the fact that you don't get HD cables out of the box, so for a decent HDMI cable its another at least 50 dollars, better quality ones come in at 100+.

And Maniac, I do keep up with the times. I've heard about the 'clearance sale' seeing as how I work at Best Buy. (Prices above don't include discount :O ) But I also understand within a month that price tag will be gone, and people will go right back up to paying $599. So it's a little irresponsible to say the PS3's price dropped to $499...

So now, back to my point... I don't want the PS3 because as of now the only game I want is MGS4 and I would end up spending 700ish without a game. Hence, why I'm not upset to hear it could come to the 360. And again, if you just look at these systems for what they and the games do for you and end up liking one more than the other, thats fine. Sure it's fun to see them 'battle' it out at E3, to see who will end up with the best games, but to hope for another consoles 'demise' because they lose an exclusive game is ridiculous and immature.

I'm going to share my thoughts strictly as a person who loves great games.

I love Metal Gear Solid! I have every Metal Gear Solid game on PlayStation 1 and 2. Some of the best games of all time. I'm sure MGS4 will be another masterpiece.

PS2 is a great system, but when it was time to get a newer console for this next wave of fancy new games I chose the Xbox360 for a lot of reasons. I'm glad to find out that some of my favorite PS2 series are following me to the 360 (Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy) Plus new series like Assassins Creed, and recent games like The Darkness I am happy that these games are/will also be on the PS3, I think its good to share great games across systems.
I am looking forward to playing GTA IV on 360 after loving the series on PS2. Likewise I would like to enjoy/experience MGS4 on my console of choice.

Well I liked Mgs2 and let me tell ya that I rather have MGS2 than GTA SA(Damn I hate GTA).

I dont think it sucked IMO it was better than GTA SA,I dont know why that GTA Spin off sold more than MGS 2,It was a great game.

I have a xbox360, I bought it because the PS3 wasn't out at that time and I wanted to have some next-gen fun... It is a pretty cool machine with excellent online capabilities, but the graphics aren't as good as the ps3's graphics, that's why I'm getting the PS3 too... on top of that, my xbox360 broke down about 13 months after I bought it, but it was repaired for free and even the expensive shipping was paid for by microsoft.
And if MGS4 comes out for 360, it will be 7 months after it's release on PS3...

The official announcement is only a matter of time. Think about it. The istalled user base of the ps3 is close to 4 million worldwide. The istalled userbase of the 360 is close to 12 million. 4 times 3 is 12. So assuming that everyone who owns a ps3 or 360 buys this game, which of course won't happen but could, Konami could triple or quadruple their sales of this game. That is alot of money to just overlook for a third party publisher.

In a way, I hope the rumor is true, because I'm one to really enjoy achievements, and I really don't mind multiple discs. On the other hand, my PS3 is starved for games, and it really needs MGS4. And about the multiple disc thing: the only game to need multiple discs so far is Blue Dragon, and that has more to do with the inclusion of tons of pre rendered cutscenes (huge file sizes), and hundreds of lines of dialogue (in two languages). It's not inconcievable to think that MGS4 could fit on one- two at the most- DVD's.

There is alot of loyal fanboys i gotta say, sure it would be cool if MGS4 was on 360, but i want it on there cos i love the MGS series, not because i want sony to fail, they paved most of the way for consoles like 360 and got rid of the bad ones, SEGA and Atari, i do agree on the price of the ps3 being a little steep but taking into account the tech thats inside it, it aint hard to see why. Bottom line is, if MGS4 is on 360 then yay, if it isn't then oh well time for gears and beers.

It's really quite simple. MGS4 will come to the Xbox 360. It's being denied now because I'm sure there's an agreement with Sony not to divulge the information until the game is released for the PS3, or near that date. It's just good business sense - Sony wants to drive as many console sales as they can, and by keeping a lid on the 360 port, they'll be able to push a few.

But Konami would be insane not to port it to the 360. $$$.

I mean not all rumors are true. I remember joystiq posting about a rumor that they got from insider source that claims that the next blizzard game is a 3d shooter of Lost Vilkings and not SCII. If that rumor is true, it seems insulting for Blizzard to do a big announcment on such an obscure title at a country who worships Starcraft. So wait and see if this rumor is real.

Before anyone corrects me for the statement before this comment, I know that the rumor about Lost Vikings turned out to be fake and that the SCII was announced by Blizzard. Just that not all rumors that is stated to come from "Inside sources" turn out to be ture.

I think ppl are overlookin Manford's comment that the rumor comes from the lastest issue of the mag. Because of that, this rumor is most likely a rumor since it takes a month for a magazine to be made and this rumor was written up before e3. Also, some guy resigned.

If this was a rumor from the net that came from the mouth of someone who just received the rumor, then it is true, but this rumor seems to be the same rumor prior to e3.

To the one who playfully mused about Super Smash Bros going multiplatform, I say that'd be awesome.

I believe it because of course the developers of the game will say (exclusive to the ps3) because they dont want you to wait to buy it they want you to buy it now THEN when the 360 version comes out with some extras they want you to buy that version also LOL great strategy and it works well on fan boys LOL

Its OXM which are pretty much partned with the xbox team so the rumour has significant weight

I could care less if it came over, i was fine before and i'll be fine after it does the 360 has a significant of AAA titles already coming its way so gaining MGS4 would be good, but not getting it would also be fine, me personally i just want it to come over so i could talk smack to sony bots
