OXM rumor: MGS4 on 360 a few months after PS3

Alright, so Konami's secret, poetic announcement turned out not to be Metal Gear Solid 4 for the Xbox 360. It turned out to be Silent Hill 5 (which is actually bigger news for some people). Still, a good rumor never dies (and a great rumor comes true). While the MGS4 360 rumor has yet to come true, a reliable tipster tells us that Official Xbox Magazine has taken it upon themselves to toss another log on the fire. In the most recent Rumor Mole section, OXM declares that a "bankable source" told them that Metal Gear Solid 4 is definitely coming to Xbox 360. The game is reportedly being ported by a separate team -- which isn't headed by Hideo Kojima -- and should ship "a few months" after the PS3 version.

Considering the ever-mounting rumors and Konami's own comments on the matter, it's starting to look like the only thing missing is an official announcement.

BestofBothworlds must be retarded that COD4 was ran on the PS3 when it was mostly ran on PC and 360 if you never noticed the HOLD X in a blue button or Press Y in the demos while being played Infinity Ward even said that only the 360 version was going to have that high of fidelity. And Madden is being played at 60fps versus the PS3 so your points are fruitless. Who cares about exclusives games need to be on all systems so devs have money to create more

i hope this rumor is true, because i dont want to have to shell out 500$ for a system that i only intend to buy one or two games for. it would be nice if FFXIII came out for the 360, and i know that killzone 2 will never come out for the 360, but the one game that i could not live without is MGS4. we all know that ps3 is dying, and for the sake of sharing games, i hope it happens sooner rather than later. it's not like MGS has been completely loyal to Sony anyway. there was supposedly one for Xbox, and the one for GC, and we can't forget that it STARED OUT on the SNES.

Unbelievable that this rumor never goes away. People just can't stand it that MGS4 is STILL exclusive to PS3. They won't even believe Kojima when he said it was PS3 exclusive at E3. Idiots...

I heard a rumor from "bankable sources" that Halo is being ported to PS3....LMAO! (See, thats not even funny or believable; neither is MGS4 going to 360...let it go already.)

It's smart for Konami to port MSG4 to the 360. The installed base of 360s is much larger than the number of PS3s out there. I would never buy a PS3 just to play MSG4, but it's a no brainer purchase if it comes out on the 360.

This is the First Metal Gear that has grabbed my attn. I like the new things they are bringing to it even though it is a little late in the series. If it comes to 360 ill prob pick it up. If not oh well I gots plenty to choose from. =) Oh and yes if they want to make alot of money they had better port it to the 360!! lol!!

i'm a fan of the series and the mgs has a great re play value and i you see if kojima is not the director or in the making of the game in some way it wont worth not even a dollar if you dont see that check the gamecube ver of twin snakes and i will buy the ps3 only for that game

I would like this game to come out on the 360 IF the control scheme works on the 360 controller. I say this as i was greatly dissapointed with controlling substance on xbox (mabbe would work with the bumpers?) and I muck preferred it on PS2. But if the controlls work on PS3 and not 360 then I shall just have 2 get ma'self a PS3 (then i can als play R&C4-yay)

News from the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Party

After party is just getting started. Big time industry names like Mizuguchi and Suda51 are about. One, though, stands out. Xbox Japan honcho Takashi Sensui makes his way through the crowd. I pull him aside:
ME: "What did you think of the MGS4 gameplay demo?"
HIM: "It was very good."
"Why are there still rumors that MGS4 will appear on the Xbox 360?"
"What do you mean?"
"Kojima appeared on stage at a Sony event, saying it was an exclusive. But the rumors won't stop."
"Many of our users want MGS4 on the Xbox 360."
"Will they get it?"
"Ask him."
Sensui points to Kojima on stage.
"I don't mean to be rude," I say, "but why are you here then?"
"Kojima is an old friend of mine."

Sorry for double post but the install base of the 360 in the US is bigger. As of June the 360 only sold a little over 400,000 units in japan while the PS3 sold over 1million there and being that the developers are Japaneses they are putting it to the more popular system there.

MGS4 is the one game that would have sold me a PS3.

I would say Konami MUST go with MGS-4 for Xbox 360. The most obvious reason is its AKK WORTH IT! I mean, MGS4 on X360 has more guranteed success than on PS3, just because it's more probable that it'll sell more on X360. It CAN be done on X360 too... maybe some time needs to be given, but I'm sure Kojima's team knows how to work hard. Konami is a big enough, and capable enough company to produce this on X360. I think it'll only gain an aweful lot of respect for Konami (espcially in USA). And from Business point of view, I could say Konami could earn sooooo much more going on X360 as well! The biggest success of MGS4 would come if they can put it in both systems - and I know Mr. Kojima loves challenges and showing of the impossible. Test X360 to the limits, no one would be dissapointed!

Of course all true 360 fans want to get mgs4 to get one over on sony. If the 360 does get mgs4 they should win the console war.
