PS Store: Symphony of the Night for PS3 and PSP, and more
It's Thursday, which means it's time for another update to the PlayStation Store. In store for us this week are a couple real treats: first, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSP and PS3. This $10 download may cost the same as its HD-ified XBLA counterpart but, unlike that version, you can load this one up on your PSP for those rare occasions you're not in front of a game console. Just remember, Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles won't be out for several months.
Also dropped this week is the E3 trailer for Suckerpunch's slick new PS3 sandbox title, inFAMOUS. If you haven't watched it yet, we've embedded a version after the break, or check out the PlayStation Store for one in proper high-def. Either way, you really should watch it. The rest of the various trailers and videos available this week are listed after the break.

pswii60gamer @ Jul 19th 2007 9:07PM
Rock on, I know what I'm downloading tonight when I get home from work.
Patrick @ Jul 19th 2007 9:34PM

Sky_Shark @ Jul 19th 2007 10:16PM

I've had Castlevania SotN on my PSP for a while, and I didn't have to buy it again. I only needed my original copy. Do you really think it's necessary to buy the same game again?
sheppy @ Jul 19th 2007 10:52PM
Wow, never saw the Infamous trailer before now. Looks like Sly Cooper had a lovechild with Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Second Sight. Good stuff... can't wait.
Smoke, how'd you get SOTN to run hacked? I couldn't get a decent ISO rip from my copy. Well, regardless, I own the original, and plan to own Dracula X Chronicles, AND I just started Rogue Galaxy so I can go a while without it, I guess.
Noshino @ Jul 19th 2007 11:34PM
bah bah, I loved Rogue Galaxy, only wish they would have added the option to be able to dodge attacks somehow a la DMC. RG and JeanneDe Arc (sorry, I never passed french :( ) have made me put Level 5 on one of my top developers, can't wait for White Knight...
Ratchet the Lombax @ Jul 20th 2007 12:14AM
I'm with you I've had this game on my PSP for awhile now. And yea I own the original so I don't consider it piracy, it's like buying a CD and ripping it to my iPod. I understand that not everyone has a hacked PSP but not everyone has a PS3 to download these games either. I have a PS3 but I think it is bad that Sony doesn't offer the games as a download without having a PS3.
sheppy @ Jul 20th 2007 12:36AM
Noshino, Level 5 also did Dark Cloud 1&2, Dragon Quest VIII, and I believe they are Dragon Quest IX.
[.sm0ke.] @ Jul 20th 2007 1:27AM
I ripped it a long time ago, so I can't remember. I'm sure you could ask on the MaxConsole.net forums, and someone'll tell you.

SMOKE
There are people that don't have their PSPs hacked.

SMOKE
There are people that don't have their PSPs hacked, or don't have SotN.
[.sm0ke.] @ Jul 20th 2007 1:24AM
Doesn't mean you can't hack it (unless it's 3.51 firmware)
Martez @ Jul 19th 2007 10:30PM
Hotness. Some good additions!
JodyAnthony @ Jul 19th 2007 10:31PM
ZOMG ITS TEH SAME AS TEH UHRIGUHNUL RIPOFZ!!!

el tonot @ Jul 19th 2007 10:51PM

EternityInBlack @ Jul 19th 2007 11:03PM
Gah, I want that game. People tell me it was awesome - used to work at a video game store that had it for $10!
EternityInBlack @ Jul 19th 2007 11:02PM
This marks my 4th purchase of SOTN (original, GH, 360, this copy). 1 more to go hahahaha...
At the very least, I'm hoping that I can use the same PS1 saves I have for this.
Alidar @ Jul 19th 2007 11:32PM
The PS1 Classic downloads do use standard PS1 saves, and in fact saves and loads the files on virtual memory cards just like any other PS1 game. If you have your original saves, they'll work.
paully @ Jul 19th 2007 11:40PM
does the upscaling work on downloaded ps1 games? or is it only when you put a disc in?
Mr. Dark E @ Jul 20th 2007 12:30AM
It upscales downloaded games as well.
Adv2k1 @ Jul 20th 2007 1:24AM
im so confused why konami jumped shipped from Nintendo. Two DS games, I think 3 GBA games, Virtual Console support and now Microsoft and Sony get this game, and PSP getting next castlevania 2d game which is lame. I"m so jealous
BPM @ Jul 20th 2007 2:06AM
Meh, I'll just wait for Dracula X Chronicles.
Brig Kline @ Jul 20th 2007 2:56AM
Geez, I had my copy ripped and on my PSP MONTHS ago. They're movin' kind of slow with this stuff, and even so we shouldn't have to re-buy a game we already own, especially when SOTN costs WAY less than $10 at the standard trade shop.
megaStryke @ Jul 20th 2007 11:39AM
Yeah, I call bullshit on you:

Doesn't the PS3 upscale PS1 games?
Phranctoast @ Jul 20th 2007 9:12AM
The PS3 will upscale it, but it wont look as good as something natively re-rendered at a higher resolution. Game is $20 if you want to buy it on ebay.
Hater3000 @ Jul 20th 2007 11:10AM
The PS store is getting some cool stuff but really how many times I'm going to play SotN this Gen.
Anyhow thats sick.Infamous looks awesome.
The movie trailers look quite bad,Underdog is going to suck more than garfield.Really why the hell couldnt they do the whole thing in 3D like the new TMNT movie?.I hate hollywood producers for bastardizing my childhood memories with this Disney-like Crap.
john @ Jul 20th 2007 4:37PM
More demos, fewer movies!!
