Sweet, might pick this up on the PSN since 360's dpad is worthless. It's nice to have both systems : )

I don't know why people like the horribly segmented dpad on PlayStation consoles either. They both pretty much suck.

I hope they eventually do this for Darkstalkers too. I'm more of a fan of that series, myself.

I wouldn't count on it. Capcom are content with shitting out sequel after sequel after sequel of Megaman and other franchises ad infinitum, yet everyone's favourite vampire fighter seems dead to them. That, and getting rid of Clover, hasn't left me with a lot of respect for them to be honest.

Ditto, Tony! The Darkstalkers Series rules but it never gets the attention it deserves.

I agree with Alex S- This is a definite PS3 purchase for me. The PS3's controller is much better suited for Street Fighter (we all remember how horrible playing SFII was on 360 when it came out fox live). And I'm pretty sure this game will be online :)

But that game sucked. It had nothing to do with the d-pad. It just sucked.

Now I love SF, but this is rather funny to me. This could be the poster child for the 360 & PS3.

Exactly the same gameplay, but with better graphics.

And I could take ports to Wii and say "same shit with waggle controls!". Doesn't exactly mean it's true lol.

"The game is an exact port of SSF2T, so the hit boxes and poses must be identical, even while the detail and resolution are increased to approximately 4.5 times the original."
They admit it's exactly the same gameplay but with better graphics Tony. So yea, it does mean it's true. It's not like it's the rabid rantings of a fanboy. The developers are boasting it's same gameplay, but with better graphics.

You're an idiot. Sorry, but you are. Was Super Pario Mario radically different? No. Was TP? No. Was Mario Party 8? No. Do you really expect SSB or the MK to be radically different from their previous iterations? I don't. So far many of the best games (of which MP8 is not one) on the Wii are pretty much exactly like previous games... with some minor waggle tacked on.

Also, you totally missed/ignored Tony's point. You tried to imply that all games on the 360/PS3 are exactly the same as previous generations when you claimed this game should be their poster child. You can't back out now and pretend you were just talking about that game alone. You tried to claim all their games are that way.. and by way of not mentioning the Wii tried to imply it was somehow immune to that claim. Total BS on all counts.

Vidikron...you've implied, you've implied, you've implied...damn, my wife can't even read that much crap into what I didn't say. I didn't even mention the Wii so it sure sounds like you've got the issue with it, not me. Do I think that games for the Wii will be that radically different from the Gamecube? No. Not at all, but that wasn't really the topic of this post was it now? I know I'm not the only one that not overly impressed with HD graphics, especially since the gameplay hasn't changed much from the past. I just put that I find it funny that a game for the PS3 and the 360 is boasting that it is exactly the same gameplay but with HD graphics. Looks like you are the one that missed my point.

Now if only Midway could do the same with Mortal Kombat Trilogy, we would be good to go.

Yeah I think people would kill (no pun intended) for MKII remake in HD, or just remake in general. MKII was the ultimate fighting game.

Ah, they do have an HD 720p MKII and it's called the PS3. I'm talking about MK Trilogy. Adding the remainder of the stages from MKI and up the resolution to a crisp no pixel remake. I think Midway is dumb for not seeing this vision.

people are so fussy about the frames.. jeez can't people adapt? look how good SF3 turned out, and it had more frames.

SF players = whiners

I think I'll go play the Wii VC version now. Expensive and original graphics, but at least I get a proper D-pad with the classic controller.

Hey Vid, I am curious about something; does the Wii version have online multiplayer? Playing a fighting game is no fun unless you're playing against real opponents and not the computer. Even if your playing locally, that last for a short time.

Seriously, how did ANYBODY play Street Fighter II before online gaming? It's almost like they had to have actual friends come over to play with them! Psssh! Fuck THAT!

Nope, no online, but somehow I have 3 roommates who love to play the game against me, so that's not much of a problem now, is it?

Jeez, why didn't I think about a MKII remake in HD (blood, gore, etc.). This would be amazing. Lets just wait and see how the framerate pans out.

Lot's of animation is a double edged sword in 2D games. If you have double the animation you will have to double the fps to get the same gameplay speed. That is why SFII Turbo was so fast. If SF3 were to equal that speed the game would need to run at 120fps or just drop frames of animation altogether.

Personally I think the animation in SFA3 was just about perfect. SF3 was just too much animation that's why it's slow.

Gorgeous eye candy.

If you're really into 2D fighters you wouldn't settle for anything less than something along the lines of this http://www.x-arcade.com/tankstick-arcade-game.shtml or would you? Who cares about joypads :)

Great way to utilize the power of next gen consoles: Leave floating-point functionality untouched and go for 2D SF mayhem instead :)

And thanks to more RAM and harddisk storage, this'll mean that there won't be load times as with all the PS1, PS2 etc. versions that made you miss everything cartridge-based.
