I had that Kirby pink stylus! I lost it though...perhaps I sold it with my DS Phat accidentally?

My DS Lite just developed the cracked hinge. Now it flops closed when I tilt it up. If there's one thing ya don't need is a floppy handheld (HELLO!)

I think it's just been used a lot, though. The d-pad is flimsy and the L button is unresponsive at times.

It's only really a problem, for me at least, in Tetris. There are times where the loosened d-pad causes a piece to quick drop when I didn't want it to, or I can't switch out piece because the L button won't respond.

I went somewhere far away from home. I gave my DS Phat to my brother and sister. Before Black Friday I went to buy FFIII for my brother. I ended up buying a DS Lite and EBA. Wait I have no idea what my point is.

I can think of two more reasons to stick with the Phat right off the top of my head

1. Speakers. The speakers were a lot better in the phat than the lite. The lite's speakers are a bit underpowered and are easily drowned out by ambient noise.

2. Start and Select buttons. The Start and Select buttons were a lot easier and bigger to push than the tiny, "clicky" buttons of the lite. Not only that, but they had a horizontal placement that had that classic, familiar feel that the lite lacks.

I've got the Kirby stylus. It's sitting in my pink DS as we speak!

My phat has been drop with the screen wide open to many times to count and there still isn't any problems with it yet. And as for as the stylus goes that the only problem with mine i cracked the spot where the stylus goes in so it fell out and i have no idea where it is. But that doesn't matter I just use a modified ball point pen. I made it so that ink doesn't come out. Plus I have giant meaty hands so hold my custom made stylus better. And hold the ds phat is easier than holding a lite when I tried holding my friends I found it uncomfortable. Any one else feel my pain?

I find it tiresome when people try to convince others, and themselves, that an old and obsolete form of technology is better than a new form of technology. There are actually people in the world who profess to believe that the vinyl record is a superior audio format to the CD.

10 years ago I found an anti-CD guy on the web who hated the quality of digital music. He claimed it was math and not music. Apparently there's some sort of advanced record player that uses a laser instead of a needle to play music, so to prove his point is provided two downloads: one from a CD and the other from this laser record player. So in order to prove the superiority of analog music to digital music he provided two digital pieces of music. I don't think he even had a clue about that or the fact that the laser record player was itself a computer.

The DS-Lite is just a better piece of hardware. The only argument on this list that has any validity is the one about spending the money to buy another system that plays the same games in the same way as the system you already have.

Clamshell for life. I honestly like the look way better, it's like a handheld tank! Plus mine's a launchie.

You have to love the Lite's screen though, that's the only thing I really care about, and the Fat Fatty is just a little heavier than I'd like. Lite's not $130-for-the-same-system good though, haha.

Ummmm vinyl is a lot better than CD if you have a decent setup, and OMG there's a thing called "preference," in which different opinions can somehow coexist.

The old DS is also top-heavy, making it more awkward to hold.

The DPad is the main reason I stuck with my DS Phat. The Lite's DPad is just *terrible*. If the Lite had kept the old DPad, I might have traded in my Phat for a Lite.

But I also don't like the look of the Lite or the Lite's weird power slider.

I agree with Abscissa. The D-Pad on the phat is much better especially when play Mario Kart (very impt!). It is much more responsive and easier to perform power slides.

The only thing I like about the lite is its screen. Cos everytime I play my phat in school, my friends have trouble watching me play due to the screens' poor viewing angle.

I only own a lite but I can tell ya the D-pad bothers me a lot in a few games, mostly the gba ones. Beat Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance in 2 days but man, the D-pad on it the made it a pain to play (made me want to throw it against the wall). Might just be my lite, but I still love my system anyways.

Ya know... I remember giving a lot of these reasons in the "10 reasons to get a lite" blog post. Heh, at least I'm not alone.

The only thing that'd been keeping me from jumping ship to the Lite was the protruding GBA cartridge situation. However, that all changed when I picked up a Game Boy Micro for stupid cheap. It may have a tiny screen, tiny d-pad, tiny buttons, etc., but there's just something ridiculous awesome about playing that tiny little bastard.

With my Micro in tow, I'm all about some Lite action!
