Watch Kojima, Suda 51 and Mikami chatting, blowing minds
Come on, it's Saturday. You don't have anything to do. You owe it to yourself to spend a half-hour with these guys. If you need more convincing, know that you'll get to hear Kojima's brilliant plan to turn Resident Evil into a boring, yet profitable MMORPG and Mikami's revelation that he was drunk when he decided to be in charge of the Resident Evil remake. Honestly, it's hysterical. Go. Watch.

Ah, cool. So I'm not the only one surfing Kotaku at this hour. ^_^

guidedbyvoip @ Jul 21st 2007 10:18AM
blowing minds, or blowing each other?
Michael @ Jul 21st 2007 10:53AM
Did anyone else find it really boring? "and he put the chocolates down beside me" Oh fuxs no!
slashdev @ Jul 21st 2007 11:05AM
Being a developer myself (not a game developer), it was very interesting to hear the opinions of the guys behind the scenes. I guess purely from a gamer perspective it could be boring, there isnt any announcements or new game release hints.
It could be likened to listening to movie directors/writers talk about their industry on DVD extras. Not interesting, unless you are interested in how the industry works and what personalities exist (like i am), as appose to just watching movies.
guidedbyvoip @ Jul 21st 2007 11:37AM
yes it was an interesting little insight into the creator's personalities, but all of the stupid backstroking and congratulating was not only boring, but a little disgusting. "I make jokes at work." "Platforms hold back my vision." "They kicked my off of remake of my own game for being super-smart (read: overbearing)" Barf.
I can proudly say: I never played into their franchising. How many MGS or Resident Evil/Biohazards must we be punished with? Okay, the Military-Industrial Complex is a heartless, evil Mother-Dearest. (learned that from Oliver Stone anyway) Also, zombies are needy, clinging, stalkers with a dangerous neglect of hygiene. (learned that from a former roommate) Killer7 taught me...um...that...um Suda...goddangit, nevermind.

it said a half an hour long. i was thinking in my head " it better not be captions cause i would be really interested in what these creative minds think about."
then i saw the captions. i swear joystiq about 3 people are gonna watch this, much less the entire thing. not gonna read for 30 minutes. of course unless ur a game developer "supposedly" as the guy above me states. then i would sit though it.
as of now, f*ck no.
Rare Hare @ Jul 21st 2007 10:21PM
Actually, he specifically stated that he is NOT a game developer. Damn, you really don't like reading, do you?
Also, it's a shame that you have such a short attention span.
SynGamer @ Jul 21st 2007 12:20PM
That was a good watch. Always good to see people in the same industry getting along.
manford @ Jul 21st 2007 1:00PM
interesting stuff.
i like how these guys are so laid-back, even if they're amongst the TOP game designers in the world.
Western game-designers on the other hand (Jaffe, Dyack, etc.) always come across as hyper-caffeineated and over doing the macho schtick to appease to teenage boy gamers.
Sidepocket @ Jul 21st 2007 7:49PM
Wow, these no brainier limited attention span commenter's are the reason why society views games as immature and for dumb shits IMO.
Spirit-of @ Jul 21st 2007 8:43PM
I don't just want one of those t-shirts, I NEED one of those t-shirts!!!(^%!
And am I the only who would totally play a Resident Evil MMO?
Rare Hare @ Jul 21st 2007 11:18PM
Nope, that sounds fuckin awesome.
Hikaru @ Jul 21st 2007 2:24PM
@fffunfarm06---xbl
So that mean you don't see anime with subs. (^_^)b
Jose @ Jul 21st 2007 5:41PM
Now I need one of those t-shirts :(
Jose @ Jul 21st 2007 6:12PM
Poor Suda. I swear I'm going to go out and buy Killer 7 really soon.
ronald.raygun @ Jul 22nd 2007 3:30AM
hell i'd buy it too. that game that's not an MMO but based on the HL2 engine looks real good.
Taedan @ Jul 22nd 2007 8:19AM
It was nice but Kojima seemed a bit out of place. He didn't really talk much, except at the beginning and the lack of any substantial work with Suda 51 made it so that he couldn't participate actively in the conversation. A good video nonetheless.
