Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: profane edition
We didn't make this graph, it is definitely not indicative of someone who uses Xbox Live ... but for a period of three months after the release of every Mario Kart game, we can vouch for this. (Update: Graph by Randall Munroe of xkcd.)We really wanted to have a webcomic wrapup up last week, but post-E3 malaise and jet lag got the best of us. So this week, enjoy a bigger listing of our picks for best gaming comics over the last two weeks. Be sure to vote for your favorite!

What's all this about Mark Lincoln getting credit for the MarioKart chart? That site you linked to doesn't seem to have much with the posted image.
http://xkcd.com/c290.html is where ye ol' pie chart originally came from.

Randall Munroe != Mark Lincoln

I agree, this is blasphemy. XKCD should not only be credited for the picture, it should be the clear winner in this week's weekly wrap-up. I vote for XKCD. Period.
Max @ Jul 21st 2007 4:24PM
For shame Joystiq.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that the graph isn't credited to xkcd (and is also missing from the poll) or the fact that nobody at Joystiq apparently reads xkcd and spotted the error.
kraoro @ Jul 21st 2007 4:36PM
Wow, congrats to CAD. Not only did Puzzle Quest come out months ago, Penny-Arcade made the same joke. In March.

baby sea tuna @ Jul 23rd 2007 8:21AM
...and it wasn't funny when they did it, either.

In reference to the PA strip: Why the hell would you buy OXM to get the Eternal Sonata demo? You can download it from the Japanese site, in English, for free... I did when it first went up. Not at ALL impressed. Just not my kind of RPG. I shouldn't be playing a psuedo turn-based RPG and hit the damn A button more times than while playing Dynasty Warriors.
CV_Otaku @ Jul 21st 2007 7:59PM
I think it's more that they're making fun of the idea that OXM has the "exclusive" rights to the demo.
As if these rights would make someone, who wouldn't normally buy the magazine, pony up the money.
Rare Hare @ Jul 21st 2007 5:21PM
OMG, VG CATS FTW. BBQ.
Phillip @ Jul 21st 2007 5:28PM
Perhaps I'm stupid, but I don't get the VGCats comic.
Rare Hare @ Jul 21st 2007 5:48PM
There's a turn-based tactical game called Worms. In VG Cats, they were referring to the works as intestinal worms rather than actual worms. Resulting in the reaction to what would happen were they to go to was as they do in the game.
Rare Hare @ Jul 21st 2007 5:48PM
was = war.
6million in 6 months @ Jul 21st 2007 5:49PM
Worms fighting inside the cat's intestines... ;)
Phillip @ Jul 21st 2007 6:46PM
I was thinking about it about 15 minutes later and I figured it out. :)
Thanks for explaining, though!
blooh @ Jul 21st 2007 5:50PM
that ninja one was the best, I'm still laughing
JerJer @ Jul 21st 2007 11:37PM
agreed, that one was top of the line

Ghen @ Jul 21st 2007 6:30PM
With a large comic selection, everyone wins =) Thanks Joystiq.
Imadogg99 @ Jul 21st 2007 6:44PM
I loved the worms one by VGcats, but I voted for Rewriting history by 2pstart, haha Peter Moore
Martez @ Jul 21st 2007 7:24PM
I voted for Ctrl+Alt+Del because it was actually kind of funny for once.
Tetelestia @ Jul 21st 2007 10:00PM
XKCD is as good as it gets. Brilliance doesn't need amazing art.
BPM @ Jul 21st 2007 10:26PM
They all fail in comparison to XKCD.
WhatIsThatThing @ Jul 22nd 2007 1:43AM
The look on Peter Moore's face in that Fanboys comic cracks me up everytime. INSTAVOTE!
Chris Yacomini @ Jul 22nd 2007 5:57PM
We should have been up there ;(

kraoro @ Jul 22nd 2007 8:07PM
No, that shouldn't have been nominated, that kind of sucked.
Jalf @ Jul 23rd 2007 9:51AM
Soo, why can't I vote for XKCD? :D
bosshogx @ Jul 23rd 2007 3:15PM
Deuling Analogs FTW.
If you have been tracking the PAX Omegathon, you may find this comic funny.
