Give Kirby a try...I used to play that on SNES and have downloaded it's ROM sooo many times. I would think this game would be fairly big with the Wii crowd due to its being slightly odd (if you think trying to get a puffy pink vacuum cleaner in a hole is odd).

You can start to get real crazy with shots and its possible to get a hole in one of almost every hole, though it will take some real strategy to do so...Great game, will be downloading at lunch today.

Devil's Crush is one of the few games where the virtual console is the most cost effective (legal) way to play the game - it's not PC Engine Dracula X expensive, but it's pretty darned expensive for a title that was actually distributed in the US...

Must download...

Great week! Devil's Crush is one the best pinball games on a console, still holds up pretty well.

I hope that XBLA also gets the Shining Force series. Only thing I would drop M$ Points on faster would be the 16-bit Square titles.

Shining Force 2 being the best game ever should be enough for you to want Shining Force, ok everyone?

Devil's Crush is excellent. No need to tell you how good Shining Force is.

I believe that Devil's Crush was ported to Genesis as Devil's Crash. Not sure, I didn't own a Genesis at the time.

Devil's Crush is actually The Game that made me buy a Turbografx. I saw it in a radio shack in Montreal's underground mall when I was there on a class trip in middle school, and I knew I had to have it.

I'd buy kirby's dream course in a heartbeat, except that I play it with friends online via emulator often, so the lame VC version just doesn't seem worth it. They really should add multiplayer..

I'm telling my buddy who has a Wii to download Shining Force right as soon as I read this. Great news, Shining Force is one of those titles that defined a genre. The sequel was only slightly better overall (due to an incredibly better story mainly). I hope they get Shining Force 2 up there, as well. So many people missed those gems that I still play today.

Wahoo!!! I have been hoping Kirby's Dream Course! It is truly one of the greatest games of all time. Now, if only they would release Uniracers.

ESRB rated Uniracers not long after the Wii came out, so I've been waiting for it ever since..

Where is it?!

When are they going to put out Sword of Vermillion? Now that was awesome.

Isn't Sword of Vermillion already on the Virtual Console? I could have sworn that came out some weeks ago.

I'm looking forward to Shining in the Darkness. When is Sega gonna release that? They mentioned it in a press release last month that it was coming, but has yet to hit the VC. Maybe next week.

I was just about to say that. LandStalker = best Genesis game. I really wish they would make a true next gen sequel for that game, Dark Savior was okay but not the same. I might actually get a PSP for the remake - there doesn't seem to be any new info on it though, I saw no mention of it at E3.

I know this is unlikely but they really should release Mortal Kombat 1 and 2

Oh yeah and Sunset Riders or whatever that sidescrolling western shooter was.

Ok I've seen a lot of "Shining Force is awesome" download it comments from here and elsewhere on the net, but haven't seen anyone say exactly why. Wikipedia even says it's "considerably easier than most strategy RPGs".

So are these just great memories or is this game really worth a paid download. Can someone give some real reasons. I downloaded that Oasis genesis game because people said it was a good genesis action rpg. I got bored with it half way through. Will this be better?

That's the tricky part. Different people have fond memories of practically every VC game and it's makes it hard to figure out whether someone who never played the game would still find it enjoyable. I too await some answers!

They changed some of the graphics in Devils Crush.
If this sort of thing bothers you, you need to be aware.
This was not a change indirectly caused by emulation issues.

The holes in the playfield where balls become trapped or warp to another area were originally rotating 6-pointed red stars formed by two triangles. They looked like rotating Stars Of David.

In the VC release these stars become single red triangles. I can only imagine that Nintendo or Hudson called for this change due to fear of offending the Jewish community. I'm sure someone would take offense to thier religious symbol being associated with the occult, witchcraft, or Satanism.

Before anyone says that they didn't have a problem with said images when Devil's Crush was originally released in 1990, please keep in mind that that was a time before the internet was very widespread. Outrage tends to spread a bit faster these days.

Also I believe this change is not unprecedented. When LaPucelle Tactics was released in North America for the PS2 a few years ago, the Christian imagery in the original Japanese release was replaced. And to be perfectly honest, Japanese developers tended to excercise extreme creative freedom (I'm being polite) when dealing with western culture and religions. I believe western developers were guilty of the same when dealing with eastern cultures

Would I have preferred they leave the original graphics? Of course. But the gameplay remains otherwise unchanged. So I, personally, will try to let this graphical change slide.

Kirby's Dream Course was awesome. To those who haven't played it: picture mini-golf, but with baddies all over the course and kirby's abilities available on every shot... such as turning into a boulder right over the hole.

I would be buying it if I didn't already have it for SNES. And wow, do I want to play it again now.
